Supported Applications

The Omega ON-950 Series consists of bolt-mount thermistor sensors designed for mounting into #8-32 threaded holes, with a 4 mm thread option available. These surface temperature sensors feature small thermal mass to provide rapid response to temperature changes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports two primary performance envelopes based on the selected thermistor element:

 • Standard Interchangeability: ±0.2°C over a 0 to 70°C range with a maximum working temperature of 100°C (212°F).
 • Tighter Interchangeability Options: ±0.1°C over a 0 to 70°C range using specific thermistor part numbers, limited to a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F). Storage and working temperatures for best stability are -80 to 75°C (-110 to 165°F).

The housing is constructed from 300 Series stainless steel. The standard electrical connection utilizes a 28 AWG stranded PFA insulated and jacketed cable with stripped leads.

Configuration Options

The ON-950 series offers configurable dimensions, resistance values, mounting threads, and connector types to accommodate specific installation requirements. The model number follows the format: ON-950-<RESISTANCE_CODE>-<CABLE_LENGTH_CODE>-<CONNECTOR_CODE>.

Sensor Elements & Resistance

The series is available in five resistance values at 25°C:

 • 2,252 Ω (Standard: ON-950-44004; Tighter Interchangeability: 44033)
 • 3,000 Ω (Standard: ON-950-44005; Tighter Interchangeability: 44030)
 • 5,000 Ω (Standard: ON-950-44007; Tighter Interchangeability: 44034)
 • 10,000 Ω (Standard: ON-950-44006; Tighter Interchangeability: 44031)
 • 30,000 Ω (Standard: ON-950-44008; Tighter Interchangeability: 44032)

Cable & Connector Options

 • Length: Standard cable length is 300 mm (12"). Additional lengths are available by adding the required length in inches to the end of the model number.
 • Termination: Stripped leads are standard. A phone plug connector is available as an option; add "-PP" to the model number.

Mounting & Housing Dimensions

 • Housing Material: 300 Series stainless steel with a 6 mm (¼ in) hex head and 4.3 mm (0.170 in) body diameter.
 • Overall Length: 25 mm (1 in).
 • Thread Type: #8-32UNC-2A mounting thread is standard. A 4 mm mounting thread is available by adding "-M4" to the model number.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the ON-950 series differ primarily in thermistor interchangeability class, resistance value at 25°C, cable length, and connector type. Standard models (e.g., ON-950-44006) provide ±0.2°C accuracy up to 100°C (212°F). Models utilizing the optional tighter interchangeability thermistors (substituting part numbers such as 44031 for a standard element) offer ±0.1°C accuracy but are limited to a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F).

Physical variations include the addition of "-M4" for metric threading and suffixes indicating custom cable lengths or phone plug connectors (-PP). The series does not list specific output signal types, as these sensors function as resistance elements requiring external excitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic awesome quality, great customer service, the only thing is the several prices increases changes

Is there a document that describes the resistance vs temperature characteristics for this?

Asked by: JDT1
You can find the table containing that value by opening the attachment and scrolling down to Temperature Related and clicking on the last bullet point, More Technical Reference in Temperature. Scroll down that page on the right side to RTD & Thermistor Reference Data. Click on Thermistor Resistance Temperature to access that table. https://www.omega.co.uk/techref/
