Supported Applications
The Rotronic Series AWEasy is a standalone Bluetooth water activity measurement head designed for quick and reliable measurements of water activity (aw), relative humidity (%rh), and temperature. The device operates in controlled environments to avoid cross-contamination, utilizing sample containers that prevent direct contact with the product being tested.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series employs a HYGROMER WA-1 sensor for measurement across an operating range of 0...70 °C and 0...100%rh. Accuracy is specified as ± 0.008 aw / 0.8 %RH / ±0.1 K at 23 ±5 °C, with long-term stability under normal conditions listed as < 1 %RH / year.
- AW Quick Mode provides results in approximately 4–5 minutes; standard water activity measurements require ~50 minutes.
- The device features a real-time clock that timestamps every measurement and includes trend display capabilities on the integrated screen.
Configuration Options
The Series AWEasy is configured as a standalone unit with a 1.2" LCD color display, multifunctional touch button, and status light ring. It connects via Bluetooth LE (operating at 2.4...2.5 GHz) to the free AwEasy App for Android and iOS or transfers data directly over USB-A to USB-C.
- Power is supplied by a rechargeable battery with 500 mAh capacity, charged via AC adapter (5 V DC, 1.5 A, max. 7.5 W) compatible with US / EU & UK plugs or wirelessly using a magnetic attachment charger.
- Housing materials consist of aluminum, stainless steel, and PC, providing an IP65 protection rating.
Available accessories include sample holders (WP-14-S in V2A steel; WP-40 and WP-40TH in brass, nickel-plated) and corresponding sample containers (PS-14, PS-40).
