Supported Applications
The Omega VIBROCONTROL 1870 is a four-channel vibration monitoring system designed for displacement sensors. It enables cost-effective machine protection for critical rotating equipment with roller element bearings as well as sleeve bearings.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The VC-1870 processes inputs from displacement sensors specified at 0.8–8 V/mm, accepting a maximum voltage input of -2 to -22 V. The unit features configurable full-scale vibration measuring ranges up to 0.1–15 mm Pk-Pk and supports standard frequency ranges including 10 Hz – 1,000 Hz with selectable filter settings.
Measurement accuracy for the VC-1870 is ±3.5% of reading ±0.5% of Full Scale setup (typical), referenced at calibration conditions of 100Hz and 25°C with current low-pass and high-pass filter setups. The system operates in ambient temperatures from -10 °C to +50 °C, with a storage temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
Compliance certifications include CE, ISO 13849-1, ISO 10816-3, VDI 3832, and API 670. The enclosure is rated IP20 with dimensions of H: 110 mm, W: 23 mm, D: 114 mm.
Configuration Options
The VIBROCONTROL 1800 Series utilizes a modular Link Concept where components interconnect via DIN rail bus connectors. The VC-1870 provides six input channels total: four configurable vibration sensor inputs for displacement sensors, one analogue process data input (selectable as 4–20 mA or 0–20 mA), and one Tacho input compatible with NPN, PNP, or AC speed sensors.
Each of the four vibration channels delivers six measurement results: two overall vibration values using True RMS, Peak-to-Peak (Pk-Pk), or Peak detectors; and four roller bearing condition units including Envelope detection per VDI 3832 standards. Sample rates are available at 4,800 Hz or 24,000 Hz.
Output configuration includes up to four configurable analogue DC outputs (assignable as 0/4–20 mA or 0/2–10 V) and four alarm relay drivers. The system supports an OK relay for fail-safe protection monitoring according to ISO/EN 13849-1, which trips on cable shorts, breaks, or internal failures.
Communication options include a Mini USB/B interface and RS-485 (daisy chain up to 255 units). Time waveform recording is supported for up to four input channels via PC software. Data storage capabilities are available through the VIBROCONTROL 1803 EtherBridge or VIBROCONTROL 1804 EtherBridge & Data Logger modules.
