Operating Conditions & Performance
The AVK Series is constructed from Polyamide 6.6 housing and offers vibration resistant performance. Electrical ratings vary by model size (AVK-2.5 through AVK-70) and certification standard:
- Voltage/Current Ratings: Ranges include 750V/26 A for the AVK-2.5 up to 750V/192 A for the AVK-70.
- Certification Limits (UL/CSA): Rated at 600V with current capacities from 20 A (AVK-2.5) to 175 A (AVK-70).
- VDE Ratings: Models AVK-2.5 through AVK-35 are rated up to 750V/125 A, with specific voltage limits of 630V for the AVK-6 and AVK-10.
- ATEX Ratings: Voltage ratings range from 400V (AVK-4) to 1000V (AVK-70), with current capacities up to 192 A depending on the model row in the specification table.
The series holds CE, UL, cUL, VDE, Ex, and RoHS approvals. Wire acceptance spans from AWG 26 down to 2/0 (for AVK-70), with insulation strip lengths ranging from 10 mm for smaller models to 20 mm for the AVK-70.
Configuration Options
The series is configurable across multiple dimensions including size, color, and function. Standard blocks are available in sizes AVK-2.5, AVK-4, AVK-6, AVK-10, AVK-16, AVK-35, and AVK-70.
- Color Options: The standard housing color is grey. Colored variants are available by adding suffixes: -R (red), -B (blue), -Y (yellow), -G (green), or -BE (beige).
- Grounding Blocks: Three grounding terminal block sizes are offered: AVK-2.5/4T, AVK-6/10T, and AVK-16/35T.
- Accessories: A full line of accessories includes end plates (AVK-EP-210 for AVK-2.5 through AVK-10; AVK-EP-16 for AVK-16), DIN rail end brackets (T-BLK-EB), cross connectors, and marking tags.
- Cross Connectors: Available in 2, 3, 4, or 10 positions with model numbers such as OM-474122 through OM-474179 corresponding to specific block sizes.

Standard models (e.g., AVK-10) provide two-way connectivity for signal or power distribution, while grounding variants (identified by the /T suffix, e.g., AVK-6/10T) are designed specifically for ground connections.
Model numbers follow a consistent pattern where the numeric value indicates the size class and associated electrical capacity. For example, the AVK-2.5 supports AWG 26–12 wires with a width of 5 mm, whereas the AVK-70 accommodates AWG 6–2/0 wires with a width of 22 mm. Grounding blocks combine size ranges; for instance, the AVK-6/10T accepts AWG 16–8 and has a width of 10 mm.
End plate-partition accessories are model-specific: AVK-EP-210 serves sizes AVK-2.5 through AVK-10, while the larger AVK-16 requires the AVK-EP-16 end plate. The AVK-35 and AVK-70 models include end plates as part of their standard configuration.

Workable Substitution
I could not get Eaton terminal blocks to repair my transfer switchboard. The Omega products worked fine and my switchboard is back in service. Thanks Omega!
