Supported Applications
The Omega CL1000 Series Mini hot point® Dry Block Probe Calibrator is a portable, rugged benchtop device designed to test and calibrate temperature probes. The unit features a built-in precision PID digital controller and provides a stable thermal environment for calibration tasks in both laboratory and field settings.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CL1000 series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) with humidity ratings up to 90% non-condensing. The probe well can be set to any temperature between Ambient +11 to 260°C (Ambient +20 to 500°F). Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±1.5°C (±2.75°F) and a resolution of 0.1°. Each unit includes a NIST Calibration Certificate with 2 data points.
Power requirements are available in two configurations: 3.15 A @ 115 Vac ~ (±10%) 50/60 Hz, 275 W for domestic models and 1.6 A @ 230 Vac ~ (±10%) 50/60 Hz, 275 W for European models.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable well styles to accommodate various probe diameters in both standard and metric sizes. The enclosure is a custom fabricated metal design with overall dimensions of 127 W x 56 H x 155 mm D (5 x 2.2 x 6.1") and weighs 1.7 kg (3.8 lb).
Well Styles
- CL1000A: Standard well style with holes for 1/16", 1/8" (2), 5/32", and 3/16" probes.
- CL1000B: Standard well style with holes for 1/16" (2), 1/8" (2), 3/16", and 1/4" (2) probes.
- CL1000C: Standard well style with holes for 1/16" (2), 1/8" (2), and 5/32" (2) probes.
- CL1000D: Metric well style with holes for 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm probes.
Communications Options
An optional RS-232 communication port is available via the -C2 suffix. This option includes pre-wired connectivity with free CN9-SW communications software and a 1.8 m (6') cable included.
Included Accessories
- Soft Carrying Case
- Power Cord
- Operator's Manual
- NIST Calibration Certificate with 2 Data Points Included
The series also supports the OMEGACARE™ Extended Warranty Program. Custom well styles are available through Omega's Custom Engineering Department.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the CL1000 series differ primarily by voltage input and communication capabilities:
- Voltage Models: Base models operate on 115 Vac. Adding the suffix "-230V" designates a model for 230 Vac operation.
- Communication Suffixes: The "-C2" suffix indicates inclusion of RS232 communications and software; this can be combined with voltage options (e.g., CL1000A-230V-C2).
The series is intended for indoor use only. It is not designed for medical or nuclear applications, nor should it be operated in flammable or explosive environments.

What material is the well made of? Could this unit be used to check surface mount magnetic thermocouples?
The CL100A series Dry Block Calibrator well is made of Stainless Steel and is meant for probes at least 4" long and would not be good for surface probes.

For the CL1000 Mini hot point Dry Block Probe calibrator, can these be supplied with more than one well style, say A and D? Can the wells be purchased separately from the dry block? If so please quote the calibrator with A type well and then price for D
Hi Glen,
Thank you for the inquiry. The wells are not interchangeable on the CL1000. They are integrated in to the assembly.
Please consider the DBCL series which has interchangeable wells.
