Supported Applications
The Omega Alta Long Range Wireless Control unit is designed for the automated control of motors, equipment, or electrical devices via a wireless sensor network. The device operates through the iMonnit.com web portal and requires a Monnit wireless gateway to receive commands from sensors as all processing occurs through online software.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is rated for an operating temperature of -40° to +85° C (-40° to +185° F). The enclosure consists of ABS Plastic with a UL94V-0 flame rating. Wireless range is documented as 1,000+ ft. non-line-of-sight, though actual range may vary depending on the environment.
Configuration Options
The Alta-Control series offers two relay configurations: 10-Amp Units and 30-Amp Units. Both variants feature two individually controlled relays that can be activated automatically based on sensor notification settings or manually through iMonnit online software.
- Relay Ratings:
- 10-Amp Units: Max Switching Power of 2500VA/150W (NO) and 1662VA/150W (NC); Max Switching Voltage of 250 VAC, 100 VDC; Max Switching Current of 10A (AC), 5A (DC).
- 30-Amp Units: Max Switching Power of 8310VA (30A 277VAC); Max Switching Voltage of 277 VAC; Max Switching Current of 30A.
- Contact Resistance: Initial contact resistance is max. 100 mΩ for 10-Amp Units and max. 50 mΩ for 30-Amp Units.
- Timing (at nominal voltage / 20°C):
- Operate Time: Max 10 ms (10A) or Max 20 ms (30A).
- Release Time: Max 10 ms for both variants.
- Operating Speed: Max 20 times/min at nominal switching capacity.
- Power Input: 5.5 VDC @ 900 mA (Nominal Operating Power is approx. 360 mW for 10A and approx. 800 mW for 30A).
The unit includes an SMA antenna connector with a gain of 3.0 dBi. Four LED indicators provide status for Power, Radio (RF) communication, Relay 1 status (On/Off), and Relay 2 status (On/Off). Security is provided via Encrypt-RF™ featuring 256-bit key exchange and AES-128 CTR.
Approvals & Certifications
The series carries FC, CE, and Industry Canada certifications. Specific identifiers include FCC ID: ZTL-RFSC1 and IC: 9794A-RFSC1 for the 900 MHz product. The 868 and 433 MHz products are tested to comply with CISPR 22:2008-09 / EN 55022:2010 - Class B and ETSI EN 300 220-2 V2.4.1 (2012-05).
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the two variants is relay capacity. The MNO2-9-CTL-10 model supports up to 10A AC / 5A DC switching, while the MNO2-9-CTL-30 model supports up to 30A at 277 VAC. Both models share identical physical dimensions of 5.5 x 3.355 x 1.25 in. (139.7 x 85.217 x 31.75 mm) and a weight of 8 ounces.
Installation & Environmental Constraints
The Monnit commercial grade products are designed for ordinary environments with normal room temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. The series should not be used in conditions involving corrosive gas (chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, sulfuric acid, nitric oxides), volatile or flammable gas, dusty conditions, low/high pressure, wet/excessively humid locations, salt water/oils/chemical liquids/organic solvents, excessively strong vibrations, or other hazardous conditions.
