Supported Applications

The Series APS/AVS Adjustable Pressure Switches provide reliable switching for pressure and vacuum alarm, shutdown, or control. Each unit is readily adjustable throughout its range using a locking adjusting ring and indicating pointer, so the set point can be dialed in without special tooling.

The body is constructed of stainless steel for durability in harsh environments, and the switches ship with 12" wire leads sealed with epoxy for additional protection. They are rated for compatible liquids or gases, which makes them a practical OEM-compatible choice for hydraulic, pneumatic, and process equipment that needs a compact, field-adjustable pressure or vacuum switch. These switches should not be used on oxygen service without prior degreasing and proper preparation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The switch element is an SPDT snap action capsule sensor. Set points are field adjustable, and cycling should not exceed 20 CPM.

• Electrical ratings: 5 A @ 250 VAC, 3 A @ 28 VAC.
• Temperature limits: -54 to 107°C, with a set point change of up to 2% when used below -23°C or above 52°C.
• Pressure/Vacuum limits: 150% of range.
• Electrical connection: 3-wire, 20 AWG insulated with PVC, 12" length.
• Process connection: 1/8" male NPT.

Wetted materials comprise a 17-7 PH SS capsule and a 303 SS fitting. Each switch weighs 3 oz (85 g), presents an overall height of about 2.590" and a body diameter of 0.750", and carries UR agency approval. When installing, use a wrench on the hex or wrench flats of the fitting only and do not torque the switch body.

Configuration Options

Models differ by whether they serve pressure ranges (APS) or vacuum ranges (AVS) and by the adjustable set point band each covers. Every model provides both a decreasing and an increasing set point range:

• APS-150 — decreasing 0.8 to 28.5 psi; increasing 1.6 to 30.0 psi.
• APS-250 — decreasing 2.0 to 48.0 psi; increasing 3.0 to 50.0 psi.
• APS-350 — decreasing 3.0 to 96.5 psi; increasing 4.5 to 100 psi.
• APS-450 — decreasing 7.5 to 242 psi; increasing 9.7 to 250 psi.
• APS-550 — decreasing 15.0 to 485 psi; increasing 20.0 to 500 psi.
• AVS-150 — decreasing 1.6 to 27.1 psi; increasing 2.7 to 28.2 psi.
• AVS-350 — decreasing 6.0 to 21.5 psi; increasing 8.4 to 28.2 psi.

The lineup is ordered as APS/AVS - <RANGE> (for example, APS-150). The pressure-switch models are:

• APS-150, APS-250, APS-350, APS-450, and APS-550 — adjustable pressure switches.
• AVS-150 and AVS-350 — adjustable pressure switches for vacuum ranges.
