Supported Applications
The Omega SAP-TC-Series consists of adhesive pad thermocouple sensors designed for surface temperature measurements. The integral sensor is bonded onto the inner surface of exposed silicone material to facilitate faster response on contact surfaces. Documented applications include hot plate measurements, pipe measurements, and direct connection to instrument casings or motor housings.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a temperature range of -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F). The sensor construction utilizes a silicone pad with PFA-coated lead wire, specified as 24 AWG. Mounting is achieved via an adhesive surface mount style suitable for both flat and curved surfaces.
Configuration Options
The SAP-TC-Series offers configuration options across thermocouple types, pad geometry, wire lengths, and termination styles to accommodate specific installation needs.
- Thermocouple Types: Type K, J, T, and E are available.
- Pad Designations: SAPC models feature a pad design for curved surfaces; SAPF models utilize a pad design for flat surfaces.
- Dimensions: SAPC pads measure 0.59 X 1.97 X 0.29 in (15 x 50 x 7.4 mm). SAPF pads measure 1.41 x 0.48 x 0.29 in (35 x 12 x 7.4 mm).
- Wire Lengths: Standard lengths include 36, 72, and 120 inches; other lengths are available.
- Termination: Stripped ends are standard, with other connection options available upon request.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series differ primarily by pad geometry and thermocouple type. The model number guide follows the format SAPC-Type-Length or SAPF-Type-Length. For example, a part such as SAPC-K-72 denotes a self-adhesive silicone sensor with a pad for curved surfaces (SAPC), Type K thermocouple element, and 72 inches of PFA-coated lead wire with stripped leads. Variants ending in "I" followed by metric lengths (e.g., -1M or -2M) indicate specific meter-based configurations available within the series.

Better than I expected
Works very well, fast and accurate measurement time and physically more rugged than I expected. Adhesive is good enough for temporary work which is what I needed.

Is this a resistive sensor? if yes, what is the resistance variation ?
Thank you for your inquiry gustavo53. Thermocouples are not resistive sensors. They don't output resistance but millivolts.

The TC connector sold on Omega SMPW-TI-M has a service rating of -29C. Will this connector work with SAPF-TI-2M TC? SAPF-TI-2M is rated to -50, what is a compatible connector?
The SMPW-TI-M will work as a connector for the probe to carry a signal through the full Type T temperature range. It cannot physically be used below the -29C rating due to the materials it is constructed with. The connecters are most often used in an ambient temperature where the instrument accepting the reading is located.
