Supported Applications

The A7VU and A9VU Series are Vari-Angle® industrial glass thermometers designed for temperature monitoring in HVAC systems, hot and chilled water loops, glycol systems, boilers, and air ducts. These spirit-filled instruments feature a magnifying glass lens containing 'Blue Ribbon' organic liquid fill to provide clear scale visibility under industrial conditions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers an accuracy of ±1% of the scale range across multiple temperature spans. Standard Fahrenheit ranges include -40/110°F, 0/120°F, 0/160°F, 30/180°F, 30/240°F, and 30/300°F. Dual-scale options are available for combined °F & °C readings: -40/110°F & -40/40°C, 0/120°F & -10/50°C, 0/160°F & -15/70°C, 30/180°F & 0/80°C, 30/240°F & 0/115°C, and 30/300°F & 0/150°C. The instruments comply with Federal Specification GG-T-321D and ASME standard B40.200.

Construction includes a high-pressure die-cast aluminum case finished in black textured enamel. Durability is enhanced by silicone shock mounting of the glass element. Wetted materials consist of precision die-cast Zamac alloy, precision-machined aluminum alloy with copper-plated steel stem extension, and 'Blue Ribbon' organic liquid.

Configuration Options

The series offers two scale lengths (7" or 9") paired with selectable stem insertion depths. The Vari-Angle® design allows for flexible viewing angles in various mounting orientations.

• Model Families: A7VU35, A7VU6, A9VU35, and A9VU6.
• Stem Lengths: 3½" or 6" insertion lengths depending on the model suffix (A7VU/A9VU-35 for 3.5", A7VU/A9VU-6 for 6").
• Housing Material: High-pressure die-cast aluminum with black textured enamel finish.
• Lens Options: Standard heavy glass window; a plastic lens front is available as an option.
• Bulb Chamber & Swivel Nut: Stainless steel versions are offered upon request.
• Thermowells: E Series thermowells are listed as compatible options for process connection protection.

Variants within the A7VU-A9VU Series are distinguished by scale length and stem insertion depth:

• A7VU35 / A9VU35 Models: Feature a 7" or 9" scale respectively with a 3½" stem.
• A7VU6 / A9VU6 Models: Feature a 7" or 9" scale respectively with a 6" stem.
