Supported Applications
The Omega RTD-805 and RTD-806 series are Air Temperature RTD Sensors designed for monitoring air and gas streams. These sensors feature an exposed sensing element optimized for fast response times in air applications. Documented use cases include air temperature monitoring and control in laboratories and laminar flow benches.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series utilizes a 100 Ω Class 'A' DIN platinum element with IEC Class A accuracy, specified as ±0.15°C @ 0°C. The maximum process temperature is rated to 230°C (450°F). Both models employ 3-Wire Construction for connecting to most instruments.
Physical dimensions include a probe diameter of 16 mm (5/8") and a stem length of 32 mm (1¼"). The sensing element is exposed, providing fast response times in air environments. Class 'B' accuracy options are also available in economical 3-packs.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable termination and housing materials to suit specific installation needs:
- Housing Materials: Available with Stainless Steel or Plastic housings.
- Cable Specifications: Standard 1 m (40") PFA insulated cable on both RTD-805 and RTD-806 models.
- Termination Options:
- (Blank): Miniature connector standard
- -OTP: Heavy-Duty Connector
- -TA3F: Audio Connector
- -LUG: Copper Lugs (Terminal lugs)
- Compatible Accessories: The series supports integration with the iDRN-RTD digital signal conditioner, PUK-2T-10PK DIN rail terminal block (10 pack), CN606RTD3 6-zone ¼ DIN temperature monitor, and OM-CP-OCTRTD 8-channel data logger.
Model numbers follow the format RTD - <MODEL> - <TERMINATION OPTION>, such as RTD-805-TA3F or RTD-806-LUG. The standard MTP male connector is shown, with mating connectors sold separately.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the two base models lies in their specific model codes and available termination configurations:
- RTD-805: Features a 100 Ω Class "A" DIN sensing element with a standard 1 m (40") PFA insulated cable. Max temperature is 230°C (450°F).
- RTD-806: Identical in sensing element and max temperature to the RTD-805, but frequently referenced with specific termination options such as -OTP or -LUG.
Variants differ by their selected connector type (Miniature, Heavy-Duty, Audio, or Terminal Lugs) rather than internal sensor performance. Both models are Made in USA.

Is there a schematic diagram that shows with each of the 3 26 AWG goes to on the RTD-805?
Thank you for your inquiry Wade. We do not have a schematic diagram to connect the RTD-805. We would need more information about the device this sensor is being connected to. Please call 1-866-512-7404, ask for Temperature Engineering and speak to one of our temperature engineers over the phone for assistance in connecting this sensor.

I see the steel shield is 13mm, but what is the diameter of the steel stem behind the shield that the wire comes out of?
Hi Dydos,
Thank you for the request. The steel stem diameter is 7/32 inch.
Best regards

How big is the smaller diameter of the sensor? Does the RTD-806-OTP come with the connector separately or attached?
Thank you for your inquiry cnoonan. The probe diameter/housing diameter of RTD-806-OTP is 13 mm (0.5") and the connector comes attached. For any further questions, please email temp@omega.com

Will this plug into my 869C? It has a circular female connection at the top with I think 4 or 5 pinholes.
Thank you for your inquiry. This RTD is supplied with no connector (stripped leads). The 869C handheld meter is supplied with the correct mating connector that you can solder to stripped leads in the field. All wiring instructions can be found in the 869C manual.

Two questions: 1.. Omega logger OM-DAQXL does not display calendar dates for 2023 or beyond. Is software update to help with this? 2.. To read the Air Temperature RTD-805, data logger pull-down RTD selection does not show RTD 805. Which selection?
Thank you for your question. We will require more information to help on this question, please email the DAS team at DAS@OMEGA.COM
