Supported Applications

The Omega WT-3104 is a research quality benchtop wind tunnel designed for the thermal characterization of components, boards, and heat sinks. This open-loop system produces uniform flow in the test section via a unique polynomial shape nozzle. Documented applications include:

• Heat sink testing
• Component testing
• PCB testing
• Flow visualization
• Variable speed and flow direction testing

Operating Conditions & Performance

The WT-3104 is engineered to generate flows up to 1200 ft/min (6 m/s), depending on the fan tray. The system features a test section length of 20" (50.8cm) with an overall unit length of 36" (91.5cm). A wall-to-wall spacing of 4.00" (10cm) is designed to accommodate PCBs.

Electrical operation requires a DC power supply where the voltage cannot exceed 26 Volts-DC maximum. The fan cable connects directly to the controller box. Note that these products are not designed for use in, and should not be used for, human applications.

Configuration Options

The WT-3104 series is constructed from aluminum, stainless steel, and Plexi-glass™. The system supports several optional configurations to expand functionality:

• Sensors to measure flow parameters
• Wind tunnel controller for automatic flow control
• Data center (optional accessory)
• Rails (optional)

The unit width is 17.25" (44 cm). The series holds ISO 9001 Certified status from facilities in Stamford, CT and Manchester, UK.
