Supported Applications

The Omega CL1600 Series is a surface probe tester designed to check and verify readings from surface probes. The system supports periodic in-house testing and preventive maintenance for all surface sensors across the documented temperature envelope.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient range of 25 to 40°C (77 to 113°F) with a humidity rating of 0 to 90 RH non-condensing. The measurement range spans 35 to 450°C (95 to 842°F). Plate uniformity and accuracy vary by setpoint: ±0.4°C @ 100°C, ±0.8°C @ 200°C, ±1.2°C @ 300°C, ±1.4°C @ 400°C, and ±1.7°C @ 450°C.

Performance timing includes a heating time of 30 minutes from 35 to 450°C (95 to 842°F), a cooling time of 90 minutes, and a stabilization time of 15 minutes. The display resolution is ±2.0°C with °C or °F switchable readout.

Configuration Options

The CL1600 Series features a large diameter, mirror-like hotplate constructed from high-grade aluminum alloy for stability and uniform heat-up. The target plate measures 124 mm (4.875") in diameter. Internal temperature sensing utilizes a Class A 100 Ω Pt RTD.

Power supply options include:

  • CL1600-120VAC: Surface probe tester, 120 Vac
  • CL1600-240VAC: Surface probe tester, 240 Vac

The unit includes RS232 Output Standard. Each model ships complete with two power cords (one for 120 Vac operation and one with stripped leads for 240 Vac operation), a NIST Traceable Calibration Certificate, and an operator's manual.

Key Product Differences

The series is available in two voltage configurations to accommodate different power environments. The CL1600-120VAC model supports 120 Vac operation, while the CL1600-240VAC model supports 230 Vac (listed as 240 Vac in ordering descriptions).
