Supported Applications
The Omega FTB-1500 Series turbine flow meters are designed for industrial and laboratory measurement of water, solvents, and other low viscosity fluids. The series features a wear-resistant rotor assembly intended to provide long service life with very little pressure drop.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FTB-1500 Series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). The meters are rated for pressures up to 345 bar (5000 psi) and offer an accuracy class of ±1% reading. Fluid flow causes the rotor to turn at a speed proportional to the flow rate, generating an electronic pulse train via a magnetic pickup; the number of pulses per unit volume is known as the K-factor.
Measurement ranges across the series span from 0.3 to 757 LPM depending on the specific model and connection size:
- FTB-1501: 0.3 to 1.5 LPM
- FTB-1502: 1.1 to 11 LPM
- FTB-1503: 3.4 to 34 LPM
- FTB-1504/1505: 6 to 60 LPM
- FTB-1506/1506A: 11 to 121 LPM
- FTB-1507: 19 to 200 LPM
- FTB-1508: 49 to 757 LPM
Configuration Options
The series is available with two distinct output configurations and various process connection sizes. Wetted materials include Stainless Steel (316L, 303 and 1.4122) and Carbide with nickel binder.
Output Signals & Power Supply
- Square Wave Output: FTB-1500 Models provide an amplified square wave via a 5 pin M12 connection (mating connector included). These models require a power supply of 10 to 28 Vdc.
- Current Output: FTB-1510 Models feature industrial head electronics providing a 4 to 20 mA output. The enclosure includes an M12 connector (mating connector included). These models require a power supply of 10 to 30 Vdc.
Process Connections & Dimensions
The meters feature threaded end connections in NPT sizes ranging from ½ NPT to 2 NPT. Overall dimensions vary by model, with length (A) spanning 76.2 (3) to 101.6 (4) mm.

- Certification: NIST certificate available by adding suffix '-NIST' to the model number (additional cost applies).
Key Product Differences
The FTB-1500 Series distinguishes between pulse and current output families. Models ending in 0X (e.g., FTB-1501 through FTB-1508) provide an amplified square wave signal, while models ending in 1X (e.g., FTB-1511 through FTB-1518) incorporate industrial head electronics for a 4 to 20 mA output. Both families share the same measurement ranges and NPT connection sizes but differ in their electrical interface requirements.
