Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series BBV-1 is a 3-valve block manifold designed for industrial applications including oil refineries, nuclear power stations, and petrochemical processing. The series controls media such as oil, water, toxic fluids, chemicals, air, and steam. It functions primarily to provide isolation for industrial gages or transmitters.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series BBV-1 body is forged from 316 stainless steel bar stock and engineered to withstand repeated open and close operations. The manifold operates within a temperature limit of 464°F (240°C) and supports a pressure rating up to 6000 psi (400 bar). Wetted materials include the body, stem, and valve assembly in 316 SS with PTFE stem packing.

Each unit incorporates two isolate valves and one equalizing valve. Valve stems are precision machined with hard seats to reduce operating torque. The series is not field serviceable; if repair is needed, the product should be returned rather than attempting a field fix.

Configuration Options

The Series BBV-1 offers multiple configurations distinguished by end connections and mounting styles:

  • BBV-1B: Mini 3-valve block manifold with 1/4" NPT x 1/4" NPT connections.
  • BBV-1: Standard 3-valve block manifold with 1/2" NPT x 1/2" NPT connections.
  • BBV-1F: Flanged 3-valve block manifold featuring a 1/2" NPT process connection and DIN 19213 flange instrument connection. Includes four 7/16-20 UNF mounting bolts and two PTFE gaskets.
  • BBV-1M: Multiplanar 3-valve block manifold with a 1/2" NPT process connection and DIN 19213 flange instrument connection. Includes four 7/16-20 UNF mounting bolts and two PTFE gaskets.
  • BBV-1D: Double flanged 3-valve block manifold with DIN 19213 flange x DIN 19213 flange connections. Includes eight 7/16-20 UNF bolts and four PTFE gaskets.

All models feature a handle made of 304 SS. The BBV-1B, BBV-1, BBV-1F, BBV-1M, and BBV-1D variants are available with specific dimensional profiles as documented in the series manual.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily by physical size and connection interface. The BBV-1B is designated as a mini manifold, while the BBV-1F, BBV-1M, and BBV-1D are designed to mount directly to industrial differential pressure transmitters via flange interfaces compliant with DIN 19213 standards.

Installation cautions apply across all models: do not remove the instrument from the manifold when the system is under pressure; do not remove the safety pin provided on the body; and do not operate above the recommended working pressure and temperature limits. Upon final installation, no routine maintenance is required.
