Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series WE33 is a full port, 3-way tri-clamp stainless steel ball valve designed for gas or liquid flow control. The series supports quick bubble-tight shut-off and mixing or diverting of compatible liquids and gases.

  • Flow path configurations include Flow paths A through E (T1–L1).

Operating Conditions & Performance

The valve body is rated for a pressure range of 20" Hg to 1000 psi (-0.7 to 69 bar) up to 250°F, with process temperature limits from -20 to 392°F (-29 to 200°C). Ambient operating temperatures vary by actuator type: pneumatic actuators operate from -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C); NEMA 4X electric actuators range from -22 to 140°F (-30 to 60°C); and explosion-proof electric actuators cover -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C).

  • Line sizes: 1/2" to 2".
  • Cv values range from 14.39 (1/2") to 437.98 (2").

Configuration Options

The Series WE33 is configurable with hand operation, pneumatic actuators, or electric actuators. Pneumatic options include double-acting and spring-return rack-and-pinion designs constructed of anodized aluminum bodies with epoxy-coated end caps. Electric actuator housings are powder coated aluminum.

Actuator Types

  • Pneumatic: Double acting (DA series) or Spring return (SR series).
  • Electric Two-Position: NEMA 4X (TD series) or Explosion-proof (TI series, Class I Groups C & D; Class II Groups E, F & G; Division I & II).
  • Electric Modulating: NEMA 4X (MD series) or Explosion-proof (MI series), accepting a 4 to 20 mA input.

Power and Connections

  • Pneumatic supply pressure: DA models operate at 40 to 115 psi; SR models typically use 80 psi. Maximum supply is 120 psi (8.6 bar).
  • Electric power requirements: 110 VAC, 220 VAC, 24 VAC, or 24 VDC (MD models not available in 24 VDC). Explosion-proof TI/MI series support all listed voltages.
  • Electrical connection: 1/2" female NPT.

Wetted Materials

  • Body and ball: 316 SS (ASTM CF8M).
  • Stem: 316 SS with blowout-proof design.
  • Seat, seal, washer, and packing: PTFE/RTFE.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between actuator families based on enclosure rating and control method. The TD and MD electric actuators feature NEMA 4X (IP67) ratings with standard manual override, position indicators, and two limit switches for the TD models. The TI and MI explosion-proof actuators meet hazardous location requirements and include a position indicator and two limit switches.

  • Double-acting pneumatic actuators use air supply to drive the valve open and closed via two ports.
  • Spring-return pneumatic actuators use air to open, with internal springs returning the valve to the closed position upon loss of pressure.
