Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series PV is a three-way normally closed electro-pneumatic solenoid pilot valve designed to regulate supply pressures for the Series SAV Angle Seat Valve actuators. When an electric input signal is received, the unit switches pneumatic supply pressure to move the actuator from the closed to open position; when the input stops, the pressure is blocked and the valve returns to its normal position.
Documented pilot media include air, water, or inert gases. For applications using water as a pilot medium, the source specifies that the cap must be removed from the exhaust connection and a drain line attached.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series PV operates within temperature limits of 14 to 140°F (-10 to 60°C). The maximum supply pressure is rated at 150 psig (10.3 bar).
Wetted materials consist of a Niploy coated brass body and FKM seals/seat. The unit carries an IP65 enclosure rating when equipped with the DIN connector.
Configuration Options
The series is configured by SAV actuator diameter, voltage requirements, and physical dimensions. Models are identified using a guide format of PV - - .
- Sensor/Actuator Sizes: Available for 1-3/4", 2-1/2", and 3-9/16" SAV actuator diameters.
- Voltage Options: Configurable for 240VAC, 120VAC, 24VAC, or 24VDC power supplies. Coil consumption varies by model size and AC/DC type (e.g., PV1_ models consume 9A resistive / 14A inductive on AC; PV3_ models consume 15A resistive / 30A inductive on AC).
- Connections: Features a reversible DIN connector for electrical wiring. Process connections include Banjo mounting to the actuator and specific thread types: Actuator Connection is 1/8" BSP (PV1_) or 1/4" BSP (PV2_, PV3_); Coil Media Connection is 1/8" NPT.
- Standard Features: Includes a manual override screw identified by "O" and "C" engravings. Turning the override screw 180° counter-clockwise enables manual exhaust operation.

Variants differ primarily in physical dimensions (A, B, C) corresponding to the SAV actuator diameter they serve:
- PV1_ Series: Designed for 1-3/4" actuators. Dimension A is 1-1/4" (31.8), and dimension B is 3-1/32" (77.0). Weight is 0.6 lbs (0.27 kg).
- PV2_ Series: Designed for 2-1/2" actuators. Dimension A increases to 1-3/8" (35.0), and dimension B is 3-1/16" (77.8). Weight remains 0.6 lbs (0.27 kg).
