Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series WE02 is a full port, 3-piece stainless steel ball valve designed for gas or liquid flow control. The series features a blowout-proof stem and reinforced PTFE seats to provide quick bubble-tight shut-off in process lines requiring minimal pressure drop.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series WE02 operates within the following documented limits:

• Pressure Rating: 28" Hg to 1000 psi (-0.7 to 69 bar) up to 250°F.
• Process Temperature: -20 to 392°F (-29 to 200°C).
• Ambient Operating Temperature (Pneumatic Actuators): -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C).
• Ambient Operating Temperature (Electric Actuators): -22 to 140°F (-30 to 60°C) for NEMA 4X models; -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C) for explosion-proof models.
• Enclosure Ratings: NEMA 4X (IP67) for TD and MD series electric actuators; NEMA 7 for TI and MI series explosion-proof electric actuators. Pneumatic actuator housings are anodized aluminum with epoxy coated end caps.

The Series WE02 is configurable across multiple dimensions to meet specific installation requirements:

Sizes & Flow Capacity

• NPT Sizes: 1/2" through 3".
• Cv Values (Hand Operated): Range from 36.64 gal/min at 1/2" to 1151.95 gal/min at 3".

Actuator Types & Control Modes

The valve accepts direct-mounted actuators in the following configurations:

• Pneumatic Double Acting (DA): Uses air supply to drive open and closed. Models DA01 through DA05 cover sizes 1/2" to 3".
• Pneumatic Spring Return (SR): Air opens the valve; internal springs return it to closed. Normal supply pressure is 80 psi (5.5 bar). Models SR02 through SR07 are available for various sizes.
• NEMA 4X Electric Two-Position (TD): Uses supply voltage to drive open or close. Cycle times per 90° range from 4 s (TD01) to 30 s (TD03).
• NEMA 4X Modulating Electric (MD): Accepts a 4 to 20 mA input for valve positioning.
• Explosion-Proof Electric (TI & MI Series): Designed for hazardous locations: Class I, Group C & D; Class II, Group E, F & G; Division I & II. Available in two-position and modulating configurations.

Power Supply Options

Electric actuators support 110 VAC, 220 VAC, 24 VAC, or 24 VDC (MD models are not available in 24 VDC).

Wetted Materials & Construction

• Body and Ball: 316 SS (ASTM CF8M / ASTM A351-CF8M).
• Stem: AISI 316.
• Sits/Seats: PTFE or RTFE/PTFE.
• Packing and Seals: PTFE; O-rings are Fluoroelastomer.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between actuator families based on control logic, enclosure rating, and hazardous location approval. Pneumatic actuators (DA/SR) utilize rack-and-pinion mechanisms with anodized aluminum bodies. Electric actuators are divided into weatherproof NEMA 4X models (TD/MD) and explosion-proof NEMA 7 models (TI/MI). The TI and MI series include two limit switches as standard features, while TD models also come with two limit switches; MD modulating units accept a 4 to 20 mA input. Pneumatic actuators feature NAMUR standard accessory mounting.
