Supported Applications
The Omega GT Precision Serialized Liquid-in-Glass Thermometer series provides individually serialized temperature measurement with a Statement of Accuracy traceable to NIST. These instruments are designed for use in chemical laboratories, universities, scientific institutions, food and beverage processing, petrochemical laboratories, the pharmaceutical industry, medical industry, manufacturers, dairies, breweries, and distilleries.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series meets accuracy requirements of ANSI/SAMA Z236.1-1983, ASTM, NIST, DAkkS, and equivalent standards. Each unit is tested and calibrated in an exclusive triple accredited/registered ISO/IEC 17025:2005, A2LA accredited laboratory against equipment traceable to NIST.
Measurement ranges span from -1°C to 394°F depending on the model. Accuracy specifications vary by range and immersion type:
- Total Immersion Models (GT-61xxx): Ranges include -1/51°C, -1/101°C, -1/201°C, 30/124°F, 30/214°F, and 30/394°F. Accuracy values are listed as 0.3°C for the lower Celsius ranges; 0.7°C (and 1°C above 100°C) for -1/201°C; and 2°F (or 2°F; 3°F above 212°F) for Fahrenheit models.
- Partial Immersion Models (GT-60xxx, GT-20527): Ranges include -1/61°C, -1/51°C, -1/101°C, -1/201°C, 30/124°F, 30/214°F, and 30/394°F. Accuracy values are listed as 0.5°C for GT-20527; 1°C (or 1°C; 1.5°C above 100°C) for Celsius models; and 2°F (or 2°F; 3°F above 212°F) for Fahrenheit models.
Immersion requirements are specified as either "Total" or a fixed depth of 76 mm (3"). Scale divisions range from 0.1 to 0.5 units depending on the model and temperature scale.
Configuration Options
The series is offered in two primary immersion configurations: Partial Immersion and Total Immersion. Models feature a White Back display style. Overall lengths are available in 460 mm (18.1") or 610 mm (24"). Specific model numbers follow the pattern GT- (e.g., GT-20527, GT-60051, GT-61051).
Key configuration options include:
- Immersion Type: Partial Immersion (76 mm / 3") or Total Immersion.
- Temperature Scales: Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
- Ranges:-1/61°C, -1/51°C, -1/101°C, -1/201°C, 30/124°F, 30/214°F, 30/394°F.
- Traceability: Select models (e.g., GT-20527) are traceable to DAkkS; others follow NIST traceability via the A2LA accredited laboratory calibration process.
Units are individually packaged in safety packaging to prevent breakage during shipping and handling.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the GT-PrecisionTherm series differ primarily by immersion depth, measurement range, scale division size, and overall length. Partial Immersion models (GT-60xxx) require a 76 mm (3") insertion depth, whereas Total Immersion models (GT-61xxx) must be fully submerged to achieve stated accuracy.
Accuracy tolerances are distinct between the two immersion types for equivalent ranges; for example, the -1/51°C range offers 0.3°C accuracy in Total Immersion (GT-61051) versus 1°C in Partial Immersion (GT-60051). Similarly, Fahrenheit models show variations such as GT-60214 (Partial, 2°F) compared to GT-61214 (Total, 2°F), though specific accuracy deltas for higher ranges may differ based on the documented table values.
