Supported Applications
The Omega SV3500 Series comprises OMEGA-FLO® 2-Way, Normally Closed (NC), Direct Lift solenoid valves designed for zero differential operation. These internally piloted valves with assisted lift design are specified for use with Compressed Air, Inert Gas, and Water.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -10 to 90°C (14°F to 195°F), limited by NBR (Buna) and PA (polyimide) sealing materials. Ambient operating temperatures are coil dependent, with specific ratings available for Class F coils at 154°C (310°F) and Class H coils at 182°C (360°F).
Response times vary by model and power supply: opening time is approximately 100 to 1000 msec, and closing time is approximately 700 to 4000 msec for both AC and DC operation. Maximum operational pressure differential ratings differ by pipe size, orifice, and coil wattage; specific values are listed in the specification table (e.g., SV3502 at ¼" NPT supports up to 200 psi with an 8 W coil).
Configuration Options
The series offers a range of configurations defined by pipe size, orifice diameter, flow factor, and electrical requirements.
- Pipe Sizes: Available in ¼", ⅜", ½", ¾", and 1" NPT process connections.
- Orifice & Flow: Orifice sizes include 7/16", 5/8", and 1", with Cv flow factors of 1.4, 2.8, and 8.3 respectively.
- Coil Options: Standard equipment includes an 8 W AC coil (Class F). Optional coils include 12 W or 14 W units in AC or DC configurations with Class H insulation available for higher temperature service.
- Voltage Ratings: Coils are offered at various voltages including 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc/50-60Hz, 110 to 120 Vac, and 220 to 240 Vac.
Mechanical construction features a Brass body with Stainless Steel 300 armature tube, plunger spring, and Copper shading ring. The fixed core and plunger are constructed from Stainless Steel 400. Sealing materials consist of NBR and PA.
Key Product Differences
The SV3501 through SV3505 models distinguish themselves by pipe size, orifice dimension, and maximum pressure ratings under specific coil wattages. For example, the 1" model (SV3505) lists a Cv of 8.3 with operating pressures varying significantly between AC and DC coils depending on the selected wattage.
Electrical connections are provided via a strain-relief connector supplied with each unit; an optional SV-CC ½" conduit plug is available for alternative termination. Replacement parts include specific repair kits (VRK-3512, VRK-3534, VRK-3505) matched to model groups and replacement coils designated by wattage and voltage class.
