The Omega LC203 series comprises high-accuracy miniature universal load cells designed for tension and compression applications. These inline sensors feature a dual stud mount style suitable for industrial weighing, test stands, and installations in difficult locations where space is constrained.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LC203 series delivers calibrated performance with 1.0% interchangeability across capacities ranging from 0-25 lb to 0-10,000 lb (0-11 kgf to 0-4537 kgf) for standard models and up to 50,000 N for metric variants. Performance specifications include ±0.15% FSO linearity, ±0.1% FSO hysteresis, and ±0.05% FSO repeatability based on a 5-point calibration in tension (0%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 0%).
Operational limits are defined by an ambient temperature range of -46 to 107°C (-50 to 225°F) and a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects on zero balance are rated at 0.006% FSO/°C, while thermal span drift is 0.009% FSO/°C. The series supports an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc with a maximum of 15 Vdc and provides an output signal of 2 mV/V ±1.0%. Overload protection includes a safe overload limit of 150% of capacity and an ultimate overload rating of 300% of capacity.
Construction utilizes heavy-duty stainless steel with hermetic sealing, achieving an IP65 protection class. Electrical input resistance is specified at 350 Ω minimum, with output resistance at 350 ±10 Ω.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options across standard (LC203) and metric (LCM203) model families to accommodate different mounting requirements. Key configuration dimensions include:
- Housing & Mounting: Dual stud mount style with a 50.8 mm (2.0") diameter and 70 mm (2.75") height.
- Thread Specifications: LC203 models feature ½-20 UNF threads on both A and B ends; LCM203 metric models utilize M12 x 1.75 threads.
- Cable & Connector Options: Standard units include a 3 m (10') 4-conductor shielded PVC cable. LC213/LCM213 variants are available with mating connector options, specifically the PT06F10-6S-R twist-lock style.
- Accessories: Rod ends such as REC-012F (for LC203/LC213) and MREC-M12F (for LCM203/LCM213) are available to facilitate installation. Cable assemblies like CA-4PC24-2-015 support the connector-equipped series.
Models come complete with 5-point NIST-traceable calibration and include a 59 kΩ shunt for verification purposes.
Key Product Differences
The LC203 series is divided into distinct model families based on unit systems and connection styles:
- LC203 Series (Standard): Inch-based capacities from 25 lb to 10,000 lb with integrated cable. Thread length for A thread is 19 mm (0.75").
- LCM203 Series (Metric): Newton-based capacities ranging from 100 N to 50,000 N with integrated cable.
- LC213/LCM213 Variants: Designed for use with the PT06F10-6S-R mating connector (sold separately) rather than a fixed cable. These variants maintain identical performance specifications and thread dimensions as their LC203/LCM203 counterparts.
All models are RoHS compliant. Specific capacities for standard inch models include 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500, 1K, 2K, 2.5K, 5K, 8K, and 10K lb ratings.
