Supported Applications
The Omega 19UJP series consists of 483 mm (19") Universal Jack Panel Assemblies designed to accept standard and miniature thermocouple connectors. These panels serve as interface points for temperature measurement systems, providing organized connection hubs in rack-mounted or panel-installed configurations.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is manufactured with a fixed overall width of 483 mm (19"). Panel heights vary based on the number of rows and cutout requirements. The product overview notes that these assemblies are made in the USA and feature patented designs covered by U.S. and international patents.
Configuration Options
The series supports a wide range of configurations defined by row count, jack capacity, connector type, and optional cutouts for switches or meters.
Panel Dimensions and Jack Capacity
- Plain Panels: Available in 1 to 4 rows. A single-row panel is 89 mm (3¼") high with a maximum of 22 jacks; two rows reach 133 mm (5¼") height for up to 44 jacks; three rows are 178 mm (7") high for up to 66 jacks; and four-row panels measure 222 mm (8¾") with a maximum of 88 jacks.
- Panels with Switch Cutouts: Configurations include switch sizes of 76 mm (3") or 127 mm (5"). For example, a two-row panel with a 76 mm (3") cutout supports up to 30 jacks, while a four-row panel with a 127 mm (5") cutout accommodates up to 60 jacks.
- Panels with Switch and Meter Cutouts: These panels feature both switch openings and meter cutouts. A standard ¼ DIN (45 x 92 mm) meter cutout is supplied unless otherwise specified. Configurations range from one row to four rows, supporting jack counts up to 40 in the largest documented variant.
Connector Types and Color Codes
The panels accept standard and miniature connectors corresponding to specific thermocouple types. Model numbers include a calibration code placeholder (*) representing ANSI color codes for J, K, T, E, R, S, or U type thermocouples. Variants are available with IEC color coding upon request.
Options and Accessories
The series supports the following options:
- Cutouts: Panels can be ordered with switch cutouts (suffix -OSW) or combined switch and meter cutouts (suffix -OSW-MTR).
- Dust Caps: Patented design dust caps are available as replacement parts (SPJ-CAP-12, pkg of 12).
- Meters and Switches: The DP460 Series Meter and OSW3 Switch are listed as compatible accessories. When a switch is ordered with a panel, installation is included at no extra charge by adding the suffix '-MTG' to the model number of the switch or meter.
- Customization: Custom color-coded anodized panels are available upon request through the Sales Department.
Note: Panels with switches and/or meters are not supplied wired. Wiring is charged as an additional cost per circuit; consult the factory for details.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the 19UJP series differ primarily by physical dimensions, jack density, and cutout presence:
- Plain Panels (e.g., 19UJP1-10-BLANK): Feature no switch or meter openings. These are available in configurations ranging from single-row panels with up to 22 jacks to four-row panels supporting up to 88 jacks.
- Panels with Switch Cutouts (e.g., 19UJP3-30-K-OSW): Include openings for switches sized at either 76 mm (3") or 127 mm (5"). The maximum jack count is reduced compared to plain panels of the same row height due to space occupied by the cutout.
- Panels with Switch and Meter Cutouts (e.g., 19UJP4-40-K-OSW-MTR): Incorporate both switch openings and a meter cutout. These variants typically support fewer jacks than plain or single-cutout panels of equivalent row count.
- Connector Specifics: Model numbers explicitly denote the thermocouple type via suffixes such as -J, -K, -T, -E, -R/S, and -U. Some variants include specific connector styles indicated by codes like 'KI' or 'NI' in the part number.
