Supported Applications
The Omega WTM-1000 is a laboratory-grade, benchtop mini wind tunnel designed to provide a highly uniform flow rate over a 10 cm (4") diameter test chamber. It is engineered for use with hot-wire or vane-type anemometers to measure airflow velocity in controlled environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The WTM-1000 operates within an ambient temperature range of 5 to 45°C (41 to 113°F) and supports a maximum relative humidity of 80% RH without condensation. The unit delivers four selectable fixed air speeds: 2.5 m/s (492 fpm), 5.0 m/s (984 fpm), 10 m/s (1969 fpm), and 15 m/s (2953 fpm). Accuracy is specified as ±1% of setting or ±0.1 m/s, whichever is larger.
Power requirements are rated at 90 to 250 Vac @ 50/60 Hz. The unit includes an electronic control box that manages a DC fan and provides the selectable speed settings. A REMOTE selection option allows for external potentiometer control to vary air speeds from 0 to 15 m/s.

Configuration Options
The WTM-1000 series is available in regional variants to accommodate different power cord standards. The base model includes a North American standard 120 Vac molded power cord and remote connection cable.
Regional Power Cord Options
- WTM-1000: Standard (North America: USA, Mexico, Canada)
- WTM-1000-DM: Denmark connector
- WTM-1000-EU: Continental Europe (excluding Italy, Denmark, UK)
- WTM-1000-IT: Italy or Ireland connector
- WTM-1000-UK: United Kingdom & Ireland connector
Accessories and Replacement Parts
The following accessories are available for the WTM-1000 series:
- Anemometer: Sold separately (e.g., HHF11A)
- NIST Recalibration Service: Model WTM-1000-CAL
- Spare Parts: Spare Fuse, Vane/Probe Clamp Sleeve, Chamber Door, Vane Window Door, Package of ten 1/4" Teflon Compression Ferrules
- Power Cords (Sold Separately): POWER CORD-DM, POWER CORD-E-10A, POWER CORD-IT, POWER CORD-SE, POWER CORD-UK, POWER CORD MOLDED
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the WTM-1000 series is the regional power cord configuration. The model number suffix indicates the specific connector type required for the installation region (e.g., -DM, -EU, -IT, -UK). All variants share identical performance specifications regarding airflow velocity ranges, accuracy, and test chamber dimensions.
The WTM-1000-CAL accessory provides NIST recalibration services. The anemometer required for measurement is not included in the standard purchase and must be sourced separately.

If we want to have heated airflow around 55 to 70 degree C, could we use pipe to connect this wind tunnel to our oven?
Thank you for your inquiry on the wind tunnel. These wind tunnels were designed for laboratory environments at typical room temperatures. Although the test chamber is thick and would probably hold up to that temperature, unfortunately, the fan blades would not maintain their shape as they are plastic and much thinner.

We have this unit but are finding it very difficult to use for calibration for the variety of anemometers that are sent to us. Are you able to assist us with getting accurate numbers on different brand/models of anemometers?
Email us all your questions/concerns regarding functionally of this wind tunnel to flow@omega.com. We will review it and get back to you.

Does this unit use a Pitot-static tube to indicate the wind tunnel air speed?
Thank you for your inquiry about the wind tunnel. A Pitot tube is not used to correct for pressure when it is tested for calibration. The manual indicates the correction equation applied to correct for standard conditions.
