Supported Applications
The Omega HH74K is a portable, single-channel digital thermometer designed for general temperature measurement using external Type K thermocouples. The series supports applications in greenhouses, office environments, environmental studies, laboratories, workshops, art galleries/museums, weather monitoring, and department stores.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HH74K measures temperatures from -100 to 850°C (-148 to 1562°F) with a user-selectable Celsius or Fahrenheit display. Accuracy is specified as ±(0.3% rdg + 1°C) on °C ranges and ±(0.3% rdg + 2°F) on °F ranges, stated for ambient temperatures of 18 to 28°C (64 to 82°F). Resolution varies by range: 0.1°C/°F from -59.9 to 199.9 and 1°C/°F at lower (-100 to -60/-80) and higher (200 to 850/1562) extremes.
The device operates in ambient conditions of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at less than 70% relative humidity. Storage is permitted from -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) with the battery removed, under 0 to 80% R.H. The measurement rate is documented as 2.5 times per second in series specifications.
Configuration Options
The HH74K features a lightweight design with dimensions of 148mm(H) x 48mm(W) x 24mm(D). It includes a magnet hanger for mounting and is powered by three 1.5V AAA batteries, offering approximately 300 hours of battery life under typical use. Thermometers in undergrad lab.
We use these thermometers in an undergraduate engineering lab, and they stand up well to the wear & tear that's typical of busy students. A fine replacement for the old mercury thermometers!

Simple, cost competitive, robust thermometer
Needed a self-powered, K type thermometer for on-vehicle, visual-reading. Could get wet, high vibration possible but must have a good battery life. This is my second as the first failed after many years service. Was very happy with the product so I just purchased another.

What sensor can I use with this to measure down to -100C?

5sc-tt-k-30-36 is a wire thermocouple that will be able to give you a reading at -100C

Is the sensor fully waterproof?

The HH74K does not ship with a thermocouple. If you require a thermocouple that is fully submersible you can look at part number HSTC-TT-K-24S-36.
