Supported Applications
The Omega DP6000 Series is a 1/8 DIN dual-input process panel meter designed for industrial monitoring and control. The series supports field-selectable inputs including DC current (0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA), DC voltage (±10 Vdc, with ranges of 0 to 5 V, 1 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V), and MODBUS PV (slave). It is intended for applications requiring the display of process variables (PV), maximum/minimum values, set points, manual control settings, or MODBUS inputs. The meter accommodates signal conditioning functions such as linear scaling, square root extraction, programmable exponents, and round horizontal tank volume calculations.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The DP6000 operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 65°C (-40 to 149°F) with a storage temperature capability from -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). It functions in relative humidity up to 90% non-condensing. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X (IP65), constructed of high-impact plastic, and features a dual-line display with red LEDs: the upper display measures 15 mm (0.60") high and the lower display 12 mm (0.46") high.
Performance specifications include an input accuracy of ±0.03% of calibrated span ±1 count, applicable to linear, square root, or programmable exponent ranges from 10 to 100% of calibrated span. The isolated 4-20 mA transmitter output offers an accuracy of ±0.1% of span ±0.004 mA. Display updates occur at a rate of 5/second (200 ms). Input impedance is greater than 1 MΩ for voltage ranges and 50 to 100 Ω for current ranges.
Electrical & Safety Ratings
- Power Supply: Universal 85 to 265 Vac (50/60 Hz), 90 to 265 Vdc, or jumper-selectable 12/24 Vdc ±10%.
- Isolation: 4 kV input/output-to-power line; 500 V input-to-output or output-to-P+ supply.
- Overvoltage Category: Installation overvoltage category II (local level with smaller transient overvoltages than installation overvoltage category III).
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output and communication options to meet specific control needs. Internal relay configurations include 2 or 4 SPDT (Form C) relays, rated at 3 A @ 30 Vdc and 125/250 Vac resistive load; for inductive loads such as contactors and solenoids, the rating is 1/14 HP (= 50 W) @ 125/250 Vac. An isolated 4-20 mA transmitter output is available with a selectable scaling range of 1.000 to 23.000 mA.
Relay & Control Features
- Operation Modes: Automatic (non-latching), latching, sampling, pump alternation control (for 2 to 8 relays), and off/interlock modes.
- Alarm Configuration: User-programmable high or low trip points with deadband from 0 to 100% of span. Time delays are programmable independently for each relay from 0 to 999.9 seconds.
- Fail-Safe Operation: Programmable and independent per relay; in the event of power failure, relays transition to an alarm state (relay coil energized in non-alarm condition).
Communication & Expansion
The meter supports MODBUS RTU serial communications with baud rates from 300 to 19,200 bps. Field-installable expansion modules and adaptors extend functionality:
- Digital I/O: DPA1044 module provides 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs (up to 8 of each with two modules).
- Relay Expansion: DPA1004 adds 4 Form A (SPST) relays.
- Serial Adaptors: Options include RS232, RS485, USB serial adaptors, and isolated/non-isolated converters for RS232 to RS422/485 or USB to RS422/485.
Key Product Differences
The DP6000 series includes distinct model families identified by the prefix: DP6000, DP6060, and DP6070. Model numbers follow a structure indicating voltage type, output configuration, and relay count (e.g., DP6000-6R2 for 2 relays; DP6000-6H3 for 4 to 20 mA output). Variants are available with no outputs (-R0/-H0), internal relays only (-R2, -R4), analog current output only (-R3, -H3), or combinations of both.
Specific model distinctions include:
- -6 Series (e.g., DP6000-6R2): Standard process panel meter configurations with 1/8 DIN mounting and standard display intensity levels.
- -7 Series (e.g., DP6000-7H3): Variants often associated with sunlight-readable models or specific housing options, maintaining the same input/output architecture as the -6 series but differentiated by model code suffixes in ordering tables.
- Housing & Mounting: All variants require a 1/8 DIN panel cutout of 92 x 45 mm (3.622 x 1.772"). The enclosure is black high-impact plastic with overall dimensions of 119 W x 62 H x 143 mm D.
