Supported Applications
The HH67 and HH68K are economical handheld thermometers from OMEGATEMP®, built around a lightweight design with a pocket hook, magnet hanger, MAX/DATA HOLD function and a °C/°F switchable display. The sensor attaches on a hinge that allows roughly 180 degrees of movement and carries a pointed tip for measuring liquids and semisolids.
The HH67 is a semiconductor (silicon diode) thermometer, while the HH68K is a Type K thermometer with the probe attached. Both are pocket-friendly tools for spot-checking temperature in food service, HVAC and general maintenance work. To avoid electrical shock the instrument must not be used where surface voltages exceed 24V AC or DC, and it must not be used in microwave ovens.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HH67 measures -50 to 150°C (-58 to 302°F) and the HH68K measures -30 to 850°C (-22 to 1562°F). Resolution is 0.1°C. For the HH67, accuracy is ±3.0°C from -50 to 0°C, ±1.5°C from 0 to 100°C and ±3.0°C from 100 to 150°C. The measurement rate is 2.5 times/second.
The stainless steel probe has a diameter of 3.2 mm and a length of 130 mm. The meter operates from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at less than 70% RH and stores from -20°C to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) at 0 to 80% RH with the battery removed. It is powered by three 1.5V "AAA" batteries for about a 140-hour battery life, drives a 3½ digit LCD, and offers a disableable auto power off. The probe maximum measurement temperature is 170°C. Both models are CE marked with a 1 year warranty.
Configuration Options
The two models differ chiefly by sensor technology and the temperature span it delivers. The HH67 uses a silicon diode semiconductor sensor and is optimized for the -50 to 150°C range typical of ambient and near-ambient work. The HH68K substitutes a Type K thermocouple probe to reach a much wider -30 to 850°C span for higher-temperature tasks.
The two also differ slightly in mass: the HH67 weighs approximately 98 g including battery while the HH68K weighs approximately 80 g. Both share the same body of 160 mm (H) x 48 mm (W) x 24 mm (D).
