Supported Applications
The Omega CN76000 Series is a microprocessor-based, 1/16 DIN universal input autotune controller designed for industrial temperature and process control. The series supports economical control of heating, cooling, and heat/cool processes using thermocouple, RTD, voltage, or current inputs.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CN76000 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -4 to 55°C (-4 to 131°F). Humidity ratings are specified as 0 to 90% RH up to 40°C (104°F), non-condensing, and 10 to 50% at 55°C (131°F), non-condensing. The front panel carries a NEMA 2, 3R, and 12 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Accuracy is specified as ±0.25% span ±1 digit across the supported input types. Resolution options include 1°F/1°C or 0.1°F/0.1°C depending on the selected range. The series accepts a wide variety of thermocouple inputs (Types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, C, and PLII) and RTD elements including Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100, and Ni120. Process current ranges include 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA; process voltage inputs support 0 to 5 Vdc and 1 to 5 Vdc.
Input Ranges by Sensor Type
- Type J: -100 to 1600°F (1°F resolution) or -100 to 990°F (0.1°F resolution)
- Type K: -200 to 2500°F (1°F resolution) or -190 to 990°F (0.1°F resolution)
- Type T: -350 to 750°F (1°F resolution) or -190 to 750°F (0.1°F resolution)
- RTD Pt100: -328 to 1607°F (1°F resolution) or -190 to 990°F (0.1°F resolution)
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output types, alarm configurations, and communication options via model suffixes.
Output Configurations
- Single Output Models: Relay/DC Pulse (CN76(*)30), DC Pulse/AC SSR (CN76(*)20), 0 to 20 mA (CN76(*)50), and 0 to 10 Vdc (CN76(*)60).
- Dual Output Models: Combinations include Relay/DC Pulse + Relay/DC Pulse, DC Pulse/AC SSR + DC Pulse/AC SSR, or analog outputs paired with a relay/pulse output.
Options and Accessories
- -PV: Scalable recorder; process variable output 0 to 10 Vdc.
- -485A:** RS-485 Serial Communication (Note: No CE rating for -485A option).
- DPP-4: 1/16 DIN panel punch accessory.
- CNQUENCHARC: Noise suppression kit for mechanical relay models driving AC contactors or solenoids.
Power Supply and Electrical Connection
The controller accepts 100 to 240 Vac, nom., +10% -15%, 50 to 400 Hz, single phase. DC power options include 132 to 240 Vdc, nom., +10% -20%. Electrical connections are made via convenient screw terminals.
Key Product Differences
The CN76000 Series distinguishes between standard units and alarm units. The model number guide indicates that specifying "0" denotes a standard unit, while "1" designates an alarm unit for additional cost. Outputs are logic jumper selectable; specific models allow selection between relay and DC pulse, or between DC pulse and AC SSR.
Storage temperature is rated from -40 to 80°C (-40 to 175°F). The device incorporates non-volatile memory and password protection features for configuration security. Voltage and current inputs are fully scalable with a maximum setting range of -1999 to 9999 counts.
