Supported Applications
The Omega LC201/LCM201 Series subminiature load cells are designed for demanding environments in industrial automation and robotics. These tension link load cells support both tension or compression measurements, fitting into small systems where space is constrained.
Key application attributes include:
- Industrial automation integration
- Robotics force sensing
- Compact system installations requiring a 19 mm (0.75") diameter profile
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series delivers high accuracy with an overall performance specification of ±1.0% FSO linearity, hysteresis, repeatability combined. Measurement capabilities span two distinct capacity ranges:
- Standard (lb) models: 0-25 lb to 0-300 lb
- Metric (N) models: 0-100 N to 0-500 N
Performance is maintained across an operating temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects are specified as 0.018% FSO/°C for both Zero and Span.
Mechanical limits include a safe overload rating of 150% of capacity and an ultimate overload limit of 300% of capacity. The units feature an IP54 protection class and are constructed entirely from stainless steel for durability in harsh conditions.
Configuration Options
The LC201/LCM201 Series offers configurable options across standard imperial capacities, metric capacities, and rod end thread types. All models include a 5-point NIST traceable calibration (in tension: 0%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 0%) and come complete with shunt data.
Capacity & Model Families
- LC201 Series (Standard): Available in capacities of 25 lb, 50 lb, 75 lb, 100 lb, and 300 lb.
- LCM201 Series (Metric): Available in capacities of 100 N, 200 N, 300 N, and 500 N.
Mechanical & Electrical Configuration
- Housing Dimensions: Overall diameter is 19 mm (0.75"); overall height is 19.8 mm (0.78") with mounting studs of 9.9 mm (0.39").
- Rod Ends: LC201 models feature 1/4-28 UNF, TYP; LCM201 models feature M6 x 1.00, TYP.
- Electrical Connection: Includes a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor shielded cable with compensation board.
- Wiring Code: GREEN (+OUTPUT), WHITE (-OUTPUT), RED (+INPUT), BLACK (-INPUT).
Signal & Power Specifications
- Output Signal: 2 mV/V nominal.
- Excitation Voltage: 10 Vdc, with a maximum of 15 Vdc.
- Input Resistance: 360 Ω minimum.
- Output Resistance: 350 ±10 Ω.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between series variants lies in the capacity units and corresponding thread specifications. The LC201 models are designated for imperial capacities (lb) and utilize 1/4-28 UNF rod ends, while the LCM201 models serve metric applications (N) with M6 x 1.00 rod ends.
All variants share identical electrical characteristics, including input/output resistance values, excitation requirements, and thermal performance parameters. The series is compatible with DP41-S and DP25B-S meters as listed in the specification tables for both standard and metric configurations.

Is there data available regarding the expected life in cycles?
Our load cells have been tested to greater than 100,000 cycles

Can this be used in a two in parallel configuration? Any considerations with this?
Hello, the load cells has a nominal output of 2 mV/V but please note that they are not interchangeable, meaning both load cells will not put out an exact 2 mV/V at full load. So if you run them in parallel, you will see some deviation in output.

What would be the maximum load that could be applied to the cell before damage would be induced? For example I have an application where I need accurate results up to 80N but I have intermittent loads up to 180N but I do not need data above 80N.
Thank you for your question?
The LCM201-100N Has a maximum rating of 150n.
So no you can not go to 180n

Is there any way to have a "special" mode in order to operate above 120°C ? I need to perform some measurements at 150°C. Thank in advance,
Yes. We can provide an extended temperature compensation for the LC201/LCM201 Series load cells. By adding a "-TC2" suffix at the end of the part number the compensated temperature range would be increased 180C. You would need to add $125.00 to the base price of the load.

What's the best way to calibrate the LC201-100? We are currently using known weights to do the calibration, but the values we are getting are not making sense.
The correct way to calibrate a load cell is to use known loads. If you getting odd reading it may be the instrumentation you are using to read the signal is setup. Suggest you contact us at 1-800-826-6342 and request Pressure product technical assistance. We will you verify your setup.
