Supported Applications

The OM-CP-MICROTEMP is a miniature, submersible, self-contained temperature data logger and part of the NOMAD Family. It is small enough to fit down the neck of a beverage bottle, so it can travel inside packaging, containers and product to capture conditions where larger instruments will not fit. Typical applications include pharmaceuticals, biomedical research, food processing and transport.

Because the logger is submersible and built from food grade stainless steel, it suits liquid immersion studies, sanitary food processing and cold-chain transport. Programmable high and low alarm limits allow the device to flag when temperature reaches or exceeds a set point, supporting validation and quality monitoring throughout storage and shipment.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The OM-CP-MICROTEMP records temperature over a range of -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F) using an internal semiconductor sensor. Accuracy is ±0.5°C (0.9°F) over 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F), and resolution is 0.1°C (0.2°F). The logger is submersible up to 46 m (151').

The reading interval is selectable from 1 reading every 2 seconds to 1 every 12 hours, and the start time and date are software programmable up to 6 months in advance. Onboard memory holds 32,767 readings per channel with software-configurable memory wrap. The unit is powered by a 3.6V lithium battery and provides 1 year of battery life at a 15-minute reading rate. The computer interface is PC serial or USB (interface cable required) at 38,400 baud, with software supporting XP SP3/Vista and 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Configuration Options

This series is offered as a single configuration, the OM-CP-MICROTEMP, a submersible temperature-only logger. The housing measures 66 L x 18 mm Dia. (2.6 x 0.7") in 316L SS (food grade) and weighs 50 g (1.8 oz). The device is made in the USA, carries CE marking and ISO 9001 Certified and ISO 9002 Certified quality approvals, and is backed by a 5 YEAR WARRANTY.

Capability can be extended through accessories. An optional NIST calibration certificate is available and is ordered as the OM-CP-MICROTEMP-CERT. Operation requires a Windows software and interface cable package, ordered separately as either the OM-CP-IFC102 (RS-232 serial) or the OM-CP-IFC202 (USB). Replacement power is supplied by the OM-CP-BAT107 3.6V lithium battery.
