Supported Applications

The Omega PR-26 Series consists of vibration-resistant and bendable RTD (Pt100) probes with M12 connectors, designed for metric installations. These sensors are engineered to withstand mechanical stress in demanding environments while providing precise temperature measurement.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PR-26 Series operates within a process temperature range of -50 to 500°C (-58 to 932°F) at the sensing end, with an ambient operating limit of -50 to 250°C (-58 to 482°F) at the connector. Accuracy is defined by IEC Class A (up to 300°C) and IEC Class B (300 to 500°C), corresponding to tolerances of ±0.15°C @ 0°C for Class A and ±0.30°C @ 0°C for Class B.

These probes are vibration tested to MIL-STD-202G, Method 204D, Test Condition A (10g's from 10 to 500 Hz) for lengths of 150 mm or shorter. The sensing element is housed in an all-welded 316L stainless steel sheath.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options across sensor elements, mounting threads, and electrical connections to accommodate specific installation requirements.

  • Sensor Elements: Available with Pt100 or Pt1000 resistance temperature detectors. For 1000 Ω Class A elements, the model number designation changes from '100' to '1000'.
  • Mounting Threads: Probes are available without a mounting thread (Model PR-26A) or with specific metric and BSP threads including M8x1 (PR-26E), M10x1 (PR-26F), G½ BSPP (PR-26G), and G¼ BSPP (PR-26H).
  • Electrical Connection: Features an integral 4-pin M12 connector. Wiring configurations include Option 1 for Pt100 with a 3-wire configuration and Option 2 for Pt100 with a 4-wire configuration.
  • Dimensions & Lengths: The probe diameter is 6 mm, with a minimum overall length of 65 mm. Standard lengths include 150 mm, 250 mm, and 350 mm; custom lengths longer than 350 mm are available by modifying the model number to reflect the required millimeter value.
  • Bendability: Probes can be bent after the first 65 mm of the probe tip using a minimum suggested bend radius of 2x the probe diameter.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the PR-26 Series are distinguished by their mounting thread type and sensor element resistance. The model number structure follows the format: PR-<Series>-<Length Code>-<Element>-<Mounting Thread>-<Connector>. For example, a 3-wire Pt100 configuration is indicated by changing the suffix '-2' to '-1'. Specific model examples include PR-26A for probes without threads and PR-26F for M10x1 threaded versions.
