Supported Applications

The Omega LV-510 Series Vertical Mount Compact Single Station Level Switch is designed for OEM applications in restricted or limited space. These single station vertical switches mount vertically at the top or bottom of a tank to monitor liquid levels.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 90°C (-40 to 194°F). It is rated for liquids with a minimum specific gravity of 0.8 and supports an ambient pressure rating of 25 psi. The unit features a sealed reed switch designed to resist vibration and shock.

  • Repeatability: ±2 mm in water
  • Hysteresis (Deadband): ±10 mm in water

Switch Ratings

The reed switch supports the following maximum resistive loads:
  • 50 VA @ 120 Vac
  • Max. Current: 0.4 A at 120 VAC, 0.2 A at 240 VAC (per table)

Safety and Notes

Contact protection is required for inductive loads to prevent arcing. The products are not designed for use in human applications.

Configuration Options

The LV-510 Series offers configurable wetted materials, output states, and physical dimensions tailored to specific chemical environments.
  • Wetted Materials: Polypropylene (PP) or Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF)
  • Output Signal: Dry switch closure with selectable Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) states
  • Mechanical Configuration: The orientation can be changed from normally open to normally closed by removing the float and reversing it in the stem.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between two primary model numbers based on body material:
  • Lv-510: Features a Polypropylene (PP) body with PVC cable material.
  • Lv-511: Features a PVDF body with TFE cable material, offering compatibility with a wider variety of chemicals compared to the PP variant.

Both models share identical process connections (⅛" NPT), overall dimensions, and electrical specifications. The unit is shipped in Normally Open (NO) configuration by default.
