Supported Applications

The Omega TB Series Terminal Block Probes are single-element temperature sensors designed for quick hook-up and direct immersion or mounting with an OMEGALOK® compression fitting. These probes feature a color-coded terminal block housed in glass-filled nylon, facilitating rapid electrical connection without the need for separate connectors.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is rated to 220°C (425°F). Accuracy meets or exceeds special limits of error (SLE) and EN 60584-2, Tolerance Class I. The terminal block dimensions are a diameter of 35 mm (1.38") with a thickness of 9.7 mm (0.38"). Fiberglass sleeving insulates the bare thermocouple wire within the probe assembly.

Configuration Options

The TB Series offers extensive configuration options across sensor alloys, sheath materials, diameters, lengths, and junction types to accommodate specific installation requirements.

• Thermocouple Alloys: Available in IRON-CONSTANTAN (Type J), CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA® (Type K), CHROMEGA®-CONSTANTAN (Type E), and COPPER-CONSTANTAN (Type T).
• Sheath Materials: Standard options include 304 SS, Inconel®, Super OMEGACLAD® XL. Additional stainless steel sheaths available: 310 SS, 316 SS, and 321SS.
• Diameters: Sheath diameters of 1.5 mm (¹⁄₁₆"), 3.0 mm (¹⁄₈"), 4.5 mm (³⁄₁₆"), and 6.0 mm (¼").
• Lengths: Standard overall lengths of 300 mm (12"), 600 mm (24"), or 900 mm (36"). Other lengths are available upon consultation with Sales.
• Junction Types: Specify E for exposed, G for grounded, or U for ungrounded junctions in the model number.
• Housing & Connection: Glass-filled nylon terminal block housing; electrical connection via color-coded terminals. OMEGALOK® compression fittings are available as an option.

Key Product Differences

Model numbers follow the format TB----. The sheath material is indicated within the alloy code or by specific suffixes. For example, "SS" denotes 304 SS; to order with 310, 316, or 321 stainless steel sheaths, change "SS" in the model number to "310SS", "316SS", or "321SS" respectively. To order a Super OMEGACLAD® XL sheath, change "IN" (Inconel) in the model number to "XL"; this option incurs an additional cost.

Ordering examples include TB-CASS-14G-12 for a Type K probe with 304 SS sheath, 6 mm OD, grounded junction, and 300 mm length. Another example is TB-CP321SS-316U-12 for a Type T probe with 321 SS sheath, 4.5 mm OD, ungrounded junction, and 300 mm length.
