Supported Applications
The Omega PR-15 series consists of RTD terminal block probes designed for temperature measurement in fixtures, pipes, ducts, and other process areas. These probes feature a large terminal block connector with pan head screws to facilitate easy termination and are capable of direct immersion up to the block.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PR-15 series is offered in three model families—PR-15L (Low), PR-15H (High), and PR-15E (Extreme)—each covering distinct process temperature ranges. The PR-15L supports -50 to 250°C (-58 to 482°F). The PR-15H covers -50 to 450°C (-58 to 842°F), while the PR-15E extends from -200 to 600°C (-328 to 1112°F).
Accuracy specifications vary by model and range. The PR-15L is rated Class A across its full range. For the PR-15H, accuracy is Class A from -50 to 300°C (-58 to 572°F), or else Class B. The PR-15E provides Class A accuracy from -100 to 450°C (-148 to 842°F), or else Class B.
Response time (T90) depends on the probe diameter and model family:
- PR-15L: 1/8" at 2.4 sec, 3/16" at 2.8 sec, 1/4" at 3.25 sec.
- PR-15H: 1/8" at 2.8 sec, 3/16" at 4.11 sec, 1/4" at 5.41 sec.
- PR-15E: 1/8" at 9 sec, 3/16" at 9.8 sec, 1/4" at 10.6 sec.
All models carry an IP67 ingress protection rating and meet vibration standards per IEC 60068-2-6 (5 to 2000 Hz sweep rate; acceleration 5g) and shock standards per IEC 60068-2-27 (50g/11ms).
Configuration Options
The series supports standard probe lengths of 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 inches. Other lengths may be built using the Omega configurator. Probe diameters are available in 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 inch.
Key configuration options include:
- Sensor Element: Nominal resistance of 100 Ω or 1000 Ω at 0°C standard with a TCR = 0.00385 Ω/Ω/°C.
- Connection Type: Large terminal block connector fitted with pan screws for electrical termination.
- Process Connection: Compatible with OMEGALOK™ compression fittings (sold separately) to mount the probe into fixtures, pipes, or ducts.
Key Product Differences
The PR-15 series is differentiated by three primary model families based on temperature capability:
- PR-15L (Low): Designed for -50 to 250°C (-58 to 482°F) with Class A accuracy.
- PR-15H (High): Covers -50 to 450°C (-58 to 842°F); offers Class A from -50 to 300°C, otherwise Class B.
- PR-15E (Extreme): Extends range to -200 to 600°C (-328 to 1112°F); provides Class A from -100 to 450°C, otherwise Class B.
