Supported Applications

The Series A2 Subminiature Pressure Switch is designed for OEM applications, providing an economical pressure-sensing solution with high proof pressure capabilities for demanding applications. Its compact body and field-adjustable design let equipment builders integrate reliable pressure switching into machinery and appliances where space is limited.

The switch is offered with either spade terminals or flying leads, and the flying-lead versions are submersible. Switches with spade terminals can be easily adjusted in the field, allowing the actuation point to be tuned to a specific application after installation. It is compatible with a range of liquids and gases, with wetted parts of polyamide film and brass.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series A2 is available in three adjustment ranges: 2 to 20 psi (0.14 to 1.4 bar), 15 to 100 psi (1.03 to 6.9 bar), and 50 to 150 psi (3.5 to 10.3 bar). Across all models the proof pressure limit is 350 psi (24 bar), giving substantial headroom above the working range. Repeatability is ±3% of highest set point at 70°F (21°C), and the deadband is less than 10% of the actuation point.

The operating temperature limit is -40 to 230°F (-40 to 110°C). The switch element is SPST rated 100 VA, 42 VDC. Electrical connection is made through 1/4" (6.3 mm) spade terminals or flying leads, and the process connection is 1/8" male NPT or 1/4" male NPT. Flying-lead models carry an IP69 enclosure rating, and the switch weighs 0.15 lb (0.07 kg). The series is CE compliant.

Configuration Options

Models differ first by adjustment range, identified by the middle digit of the part number. The 5-series covers 2 to 20 psi (0.14 to 1.4 bar), the 6-series covers 15 to 100 psi (1.03 to 6.9 bar), and the 7-series covers 50 to 150 psi (3.5 to 10.3 bar). All ranges share the same 350 psi (24 bar) proof pressure.

Models also differ by electrical connection and switch action. Spade-terminal versions are the field-adjustable style, while flying-lead versions are submersible and rated IP69. Within each range, models are configured as either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC), letting the designer match the switch to the control logic of the application.

Key Product Differences

The model chart lists twelve configurations built from the three pressure ranges combined with connection type and NO/NC action:
