Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series DPGAB and DPGWB are digital pressure gages designed for precise measurement in process applications, process start-up, and OEM environments. The series is differentiated by media compatibility: the DPGAB models are specified for air and compatible gases, while the DPGWB models are rated for liquids and compatible gases.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series DPGAB/DPGWB delivers a stated accuracy of ±0.5% FS (includes linearity, hysteresis, repeatability). The units operate within an ambient temperature range of 30 to 120°F (-1 to 49°C) and feature a thermal effect rating of 0.05% FS/°F. Measurement ranges span from vacuum service at 30" Hg to 0 (vac) up to positive pressure limits of 0 to 500 psi, with specific resolution values varying by range model.

Pressure limits are defined as 2X the pressure range; for vacuum ranges, the maximum allowable pressure is 30 psig. The display indicates an over-range condition when applied pressure exceeds 105% F.S., flashing 'OFL'. A low battery indicator ('LOW BAT') appears on the LCD when power needs replacement.

Configuration Options

The series is housed in ABS plastic with overall dimensions of 3-59/64" [99.62] OD x 1-25/32" [45.24] deep (also referenced as 2.62" O.D. x 1.52" deep). All models utilize a 1/4" male NPT process connection and are powered by an included, user-replaceable 9 V alkaline battery with auto shut-off functionality.

Key configurable features include:

  • Wetted Materials: DPGAB models use 316L SS and a silicone sensor; DPGWB models utilize Type 316L SS wetted parts.
  • User Interface: A two-button keypad allows for auto zeroing (performed only when disconnected from pressure) and conversion between selectable engineering units including psi, kg/cm², bar, in Hg, ft wc, kPa, oz/in², in wc, mbar, cm wc, and mm Hg.
  • Display: 4-digit LCD with digit dimensions of .234" W x .425" H (approximate).

Optional accessories include a protective rubber boot (Model A-293) and an optional NIST traceable calibration certificate available by adding the "-NIST" suffix to the model number.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the two families is media service: DPGAB for gases, DPGWB for liquids. Both share identical accuracy specifications and housing materials but differ in internal sensor construction (silicone sensor vs. 316L SS). Model numbers follow a standard format where the suffix indicates the pressure range; for example, models ending in "-04" cover 0 to 5 psi with 0.002 psi resolution, while "-11" covers 0 to 500 psi with 0.2 psi resolution.

Compound ranges are available within the broader family context (e.g., DPGWB-12: 30" Hg-0-100 psi), though specific availability should be verified against current catalog listings for this series code subset.
