Supported Applications

The Omega FPB1400 Series consists of plastic paddlewheel flow meters designed for liquid flow measurement. The series is calibrated for water (H2O) and supports fluids with viscosities up to 50 cSt when field calibration is applied, provided the fluid viscosity does not exceed this limit during operation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FPB1400 Series operates within a process temperature range of 60 °C (140 °F) and supports a maximum pressure rating of 10 bar (150 psig). Accuracy is specified as ±1% FS. The series provides response times of at least 1 second for flow rates from 10 to 90% of full scale, and at least 2 seconds below 10% of full scale.

Power requirements are 5 to 24 Vdc @ 2 mA. The output signal is an NPN open collector with a maximum load of 30 mA. Maximum differential pressure varies by meter size: FPB1402/FPB1412 models support up to 1 bar (15 psi), while FPB1404, FPB1406, and FPB1408 series sizes support up to 1.4 bar (20 psi).

Configuration Options

The series is available in two primary material configurations: Polypropylene models and PVDF models. Both configurations feature female NPT ports with sizes corresponding to the meter model (3/8", 1/2", 3/4", or 1"). The meters mount in any direction and include visual flow indication.

Electrical and Display Options

The standard electrical connection includes a flow signal cable of 1.8 m (6'). An optional extended cable length is available at 3.7m (12') for the flow signal, or an RTD sensor with a 0.3 m (1') cable on -RTD models. The series supports the DPF701 accessory: a 1/8 DIN digital display powered by 115 Vac or 7.5 to 13 Vdc.

Key Product Differences

The FPB1400 Series distinguishes between Polypropylene and PVDF construction via model numbering: models ending in even numbers (e.g., FPB1402, FPB1404) denote Polypropylene bodies with Acrylic lids, while models ending in 12 or higher even digits (FPB1412, FPB1414, etc.) indicate PVDF construction for both body and lid. The -RTD suffix indicates the inclusion of an RTD temperature sensor.

Model numbers follow the pattern FPB140X, where X corresponds to port size: 2 (3/8"), 4 (1/2"), 6 (3/4"), and 8 (1"). The series carries CE certification. A warning states that these products are not designed for patient-connected applications, and the selection of materials remains the responsibility of the customer.
