Supported Applications
The Omega RD9900 Series is a network-compatible paperless recorder designed for data management, research and development, and remote or wide-range monitoring. The system supports intranet and internet environments to enable web browser-based display on multiple computers, FTP transfer of data files, and e-mail notifications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The RD9900 Series features a 144 mm (5.67") TFT color LCD with high-speed sampling at approximately 100 ms for all points. Measurement inputs include thermocouples, DC voltage, and resistance thermometers. Accuracy specifications are defined by input type: Type K, E, J, T, N, Platinel II offer ±0.5°C or less; R, S, NiMo-Ni, CR-AuFe, WRe5-WRe26, W-Wre, U, L offer ±1.0°C or less.
Operating conditions are rated for an ambient temperature of 0 to 50°C and humidity of 20 to 80% RH (normal operating). Storage and transportation ranges extend from -20 to 60°C with a maximum vibration rating of 10 to 60 Hz, 0.5 G (4.9 m/S²) or less.
Recording Capacity
Data is stored in internal flash memory (4 MB capacity) and external CompactFlash cards ranging from 32 MB to 2 GB. Recording duration varies by channel count, sampling cycle, and card size:
- 6 Channels: At a 0.1 sec recording cycle with a 2 GB CF card, the recorder supports up to 101 days of storage.
- 12 Channels: At a 0.1 sec recording cycle with a 2 GB CF card, the recorder supports up to 50.6 days of storage.
Electrical Isolation & Safety
The unit provides dielectric strength between channels of 1000 Vac or more using high-strength semiconductor relays. Insulation resistance is rated at 20 MΩ or more at 500 Vdc for primary/secondary terminals and protective conductor terminals.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable measurement points, communication interfaces, alarm outputs, and power options to meet specific installation needs.Measurement Points & Sampling Rate
- RD9906: 6-point input / 100 ms sampling rate.
- RD9912: 12 point input / 100 ms sampling rate.
Communication Interfaces
Ethernet and USB are equipped as standard. Optional communication interfaces include the RD9900-C24, which provides a switchable High order RS-232C/RS-485 interface with Low order RS-485.
Alarm & Output Options
- RD9900-AL12: 12-point mechanical relay alarm output (contact capacity: 100 Vac 0.5 A, 240 Vac 0.2 A).
- ZAILA Software: RD9900-ZAILA data analysis software is available as an option.
Housing & Mounting
The recorder features a steel case with ABS resin door frame, designed for panel mounting. Dimensions are 203.6 mm (8.02 in) width x 161 mm (6.34 in) height x 137 mm (5.39 in) depth.Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between models is the number of measuring points: RD9906 supports 6 channels, while RD9912 supports 12 channels. Both variants share identical display specifications, including a maximum of 44 points per screen across 5 groups (screens), and support for trend, data, bar-graph, alarm, marker list, file list, and setting screens.Input configurations allow burnout detection with selectable UP/DOWN disable for thermocouple and resistance thermometer inputs. Scaling is programmable for DC voltage/current ranges. Digital filtering utilizes a programming FIR filter common to all points.
