Supported Applications
The Omega LCM412-IS series comprises intrinsically safe, low-profile load cells designed for tension or compression applications in hazardous locations. These units are intended for use exclusively in the USA and Canada where FM Intrinsically Safe ratings apply to Class I, II, III environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F) with a compensated temperature span of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Measurement capabilities cover capacities from 50 to 750,000 lb and 25 to 10,000 kgf. Performance specifications include nonlinearity and hysteresis at 0.10 %F.S.O., repeatability of 0.05 %F.S.O., and a zero balance adjustable by ±10% with -2%. The units support an excitation voltage of 10-28 Vdc.

Hazardous Location Approvals
The series holds FM Intrinsically Safe ratings for Class I, II, III, Division 1 Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G. It is also rated for Class I, Zone 0 (AEx ia IIC in the US; Ex ia IIC in Canada) with a temperature code of T4.
Configuration Options

Output Signals
- C2IS Suffix: FM Intrinsically Safe 4 to 20 mA output, calibrated 0 to full scale in compression.
- BC2IS Suffix: FM Intrinsically Safe 4-12-20 mA output, calibrated from (-)full scale to (+)full scale for bidirectional measurement.
Mechanical Accessories
The series supports various mounting accessories including standard and metric load buttons (LBC/MLBC), male rod ends (REC/MREC), and tension base plates compatible with specific capacity ranges. Thread sizes vary by capacity, ranging from ⅜-24UNF-2B to 4-8UN-2B for imperial models and M10 x 1.5-6G to M24 x 2.0-6G for metric models.
Calibration Notes
Ranges over 300,000 lb are calibrated at 300,000 lb by default; full calibration is available upon request with the 'ZXX' suffix added to the part number. The series features a zero and span adjustment capability, though specific models may be configured without potentiometers (NP suffix).
