Supported Applications
The Omega FPUD300 Series consists of motor-driven drum pumps designed for emptying a wide variety of containers. The series features corrosion-resistant construction suitable for handling various chemicals from carboys or small containers. Specific configurations support the transfer of flammable or combustible materials and operation in explosive environments when equipped with the FMXD11-AM air motor.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FPUD300 Series offers performance capabilities differentiated by motor type and tube material. Electric motors (ODP and TEFC) provide a discharge head of 75 ft, while the Air Motor provides up to 16 ft. Flow rates range from 0 to 44 gallons for electric models and 0 to 16 gallons for air-driven units.
Process temperature limits depend on the pump tube material: Polypropylene tubes are rated to 71.1°C (160°F), while 316SS tubes support up to 104°C (220°F). The series supports a pressure rating of 40 gpm at 24 m (80') TDH for electric models and 30 gpm at 18 m (60') HD for air-driven applications. All FPUD3 Series pump tubes are sealless to ensure leakproof operation.
Motor Specifications
- Electric Motors: Single-phase, 115 or 230 Vac, 50/60 Hz, continuous duty. Models include FPUD311-A (½ HP, ODP/IP24), FPUD321-A** (½ HP, ODP/IP24), and FPUD362 (½ HP, TEFC).
- Air Motor: FMXD11-AM provides ¾ HP at 3000 RPM with an air supply requirement of 100 psig @ 25 cfm.
Configuration Options
The series is configured by selecting a motor type and pump tube separately. Pump tubes are available in Corrosion-Resistant Polypropylene or 316SS, with wetted materials including Inconel, PTFE, Halar, and 316SS.
Pump Tubes
- FPUD3-P Series (Polypropylene): Includes a variable orifice on the outlet to limit flows to 10, 20, 30, or 40 GPM. Connections include both 1" ID Hose and 1¼ MNPT.
- FPUD3-S Series (316SS): Features a connection of 1" ID Hose Only.
- Lengths: Available in shipping lengths of 0.7 m (2.25 ft), 1.0 m (3.33 ft), and 1.2 m (4 ft).
Motors & Enclosures
- Electric: ODP (Open Drip-Proof) or TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled). Includes built-in on/off switch and three-wire cord with grounded wall plugs for 115 Vac models.
- Air: FMXD11-AM features a ¼ MNPT fitting. Only this air motor is intended for pumping flammable or combustible materials.
Accessories & Options
- Drum Adaptors: FPUD5-SDA (316 SS with 2" IPS thread) and FPUD5-PDA (Polypropylene with 2" IPS thread).
- Inlet Strainer: FPUD3-PS Polypropylene inlet strainer for FPUD3-P series ONLY.
- Static Protection Kit: FPUD34-SK static protection kit (Note: DO NOT use with FMXD11-AM air motor).
- Filter-Lubricator Assembly: FPUD345-FL for FPUD331.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between Polypropylene and 316SS pump tubes based on chemical compatibility and temperature requirements. Electric motors vary by enclosure type (ODP/IP24 vs TEFC) and voltage rating, while the air motor is distinctively specified for hazardous environments involving flammable or combustible liquids.
Model number construction follows the format: FPUD300 Series - <Motor Type> - <Pump Tube Type> - <Accessories>. For example, FPUD362 denotes a 115 Vac TEFC powered pump motor paired with an FPUD3-S40 (316 stainless steel pump tube).
Safety warnings specify that plastic pumps or 'O' Series/'T' Series motors must never be used for flammable materials. Operators must use the Static Protection Kit and ensure proper grounding when handling such liquids, adhering to NFPA 77 standards.
