Supported Applications
The Omega LC8313/LC8400 Series consists of large-ID through-hole compression load cells designed for applications requiring a substantial central opening. These donut-shaped sensors are engineered to measure forces on large bolts or suspended loads where the geometry necessitates a clearance hole.

Operating Conditions & Performance
The series provides compression measurements across capacities ranging from 0-1000 lb to 0-100K lb (0-455 kgf to 0-45,372 kgf). Accuracy is specified as ±0.5% linearity, hysteresis and repeatability combined. The sensors operate within an ambient temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F) and a process temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F).
Electrical specifications include a load resistance of 350 ±5 Ω, an output signal of 2 mV/V nominal, and an excitation voltage requirement of 10 Vdc (15V maximum). Each unit includes a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor shielded cable with the following wire color code: GN (+Output), WT (-Output), BK (-Input), RD (+Input).
Configuration Options
The series is available in three primary model families distinguished by outer diameter and selectable inside diameters (ID): LC8313, LC8400, and LC8450. All models are constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel.

- LC8313: OD 80 mm (3.13"), H 13 mm (0.50") with selectable IDs of 2.00" or 2.13".
- LC8400: OD 102 mm (4.00"). Height is 25 mm (1.00") for capacities from 1K to 50K, and 51 mm (2.00") for capacities ≥100K. Selectable IDs are 2.00" or 2.13".
- LC8450: OD 114 mm (4.50"), H 32 mm (1.25") with selectable IDs of 3.00" or 3.13".
Certifications and Calibration
The load cells feature NIST Standard certification and RoHS compliance. Units come complete with a 5-point NIST-traceable calibration and include a 59 kΩ shunt for data verification or simulation purposes.
Key Product Differences
Variants are differentiated by model family, capacity range, and inside diameter selection:
- LC8313 Series (3.13" OD): Available in capacities from 1 K lb to 7.5 K lb with IDs of 2.00" or 2.13".
- LC8400 Series (4.00" OD): Offers the broadest capacity range, spanning 1 K lb to 200 K lb. The physical height increases for capacities ≥100K. IDs of 2.00" or 2.13" are available.
- LC8450 Series (4.50" OD): Supports capacities from 1 K lb to 50 K lb with larger inside diameters of 3.00" or 3.13".
The model number format follows the pattern [Model]-[ID Code]-[Capacity], where the ID code corresponds to the specific hole size (e.g., LC8450-300-1K for a 3.00" ID, 1 K lb capacity). Metric configurations are available upon consultation with engineering.
