Supported Applications
The Omega OM-CP-IRTC101A is a battery-powered infrared thermocouple-based temperature data logger designed for non-contact surface temperature recording and monitoring of moving objects. As part of the NOMAD® family, it supports real-time operation with programmable start/stop times initiated directly from a computer.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The device operates within an ambient temperature range of -18 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F) and features an IP65 enclosure rating. It utilizes Type K infrared thermocouples with a sensor accuracy of ±2.0°C, while the logger calibrated accuracy is specified as ±0.25°C (±0.45°F). The system provides a resolution of 0.1°C (0.18°F) and supports a reading rate of 1 second.
Measurement capabilities span multiple infrared thermocouple ranges, including -18 to 27°C (0 to 80°F), 10 to 49°C (50 to 120°F), 16 to 39°C (60 to 102°F), 25 to 80°C (80 to 180°F), 70 to 104°C (160 to 220°F), 95 to 130°C (200 to 270°F), 125 to 155°C (260 to 310°F), 145 to 175°C (290 to 350°F), and 170 to 250°C (340 to 480°F). The unit can record up to 500,000 measurements per channel.
Configuration Options
The series is powered by a user-replaceable 3.6V lithium battery with a documented life of 10 years. Data retrieval occurs via USB interface (interface cable required) at 115,200 baud, outputting date and time stamped values in °C, °F, K, °R, μV, mV, or V.
Configuration options include:
- Housing & Protection: Anodized aluminum with polycarbonate cover; optional OM-CP-WATERBOX101A weatherproof NEMA 4 (IP65) enclosure and maintenance kit.
- Sensors: Female subminiature (SMP) thermocouple connection compatible with OS36-01 series infrared probes sold separately.
- Certification & Software: Optional NIST traceable calibration certificate; OM-CP-IFC200 package includes Windows software and 1.8 m (6') USB interface cable.
- Maintenance: Replacement battery available as OM-CP-BAT105.
The device supports firmware upgrades from any PC without returning the unit to the factory.
Key Product Differences
