Supported Applications
The Omega ACC787A series consists of low-profile, industrial-grade accelerometers designed for vibration measurements in harsh environments. The hermetically sealed construction supports deployment where environmental protection is required.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The ACC787A accelerometer features a measurement range of 80 g peak with a sensitivity of 100 mV/g (±10% at 25°C). Dynamic performance includes an amplitude non-linearity of 1%, transverse sensitivity maximum of 5% of axial, and resonance frequency of 22 kHz. Frequency response is specified as ±10% from 1.0 to 5000 Hz and ±3 dB from 0.7 to 10,000 Hz.
Electrical specifications require a voltage source of 18 to 30 Vdc with a current regulating diode range of 2 to 10 mA; notes recommend 24 to 30 Vdc for long cables or high-vibration signals and limit maximum current to 6 mA above 100°C (212°F). The device operates within an ambient temperature range of -50 to 120°C (-58 to 248°F) with a hermetic seal rating of 10⁻⁸ cc/s. Environmental limits include a vibration limit of 500 g peak and a shock limit of 5000 g peak.
Configuration Options
The series is offered as the ACC787A general-purpose model with a side cable exit, housed in 316L SS. The unit weighs 145 g (5.1 oz) and mounts via a ¼-28 captive hex head screw featuring a 1.2 mm (0.046") diameter safety wire hole.
Available accessories include:
- Cables: ACC-CB7-10 (3.05 m / 10' MIL/BNC twisted-pair shielded) and ACC-CB7-10WP (waterproof version).
- Magnetic Mounting Bases: ACC-B3-1 for flat surfaces (40 lbf holding force) and ACC-B5 for curved surfaces (30 lbf holding force).
- Power Supplies: ACC-PS2 (rechargeable with built-in amplifier) and ACC-PS3 (115 Vac).
The electrical connection utilizes a 2 pin, MIL-C-5015 style connector where Pin A is Power/signal and Pin B is Common. The case is isolated and internally shielded.
Key Product Differences
The ACC787A model is defined as the general-purpose accelerometer with a side exit connector. Cables, mounting bases, and power supplies are specified separately from the sensor unit to configure complete measurement systems.
