Supported Applications

The Omega HHPT-51 is a portable particle counter designed to measure and report air contamination. The series supports monitoring in clean rooms, manufacturing processes, pharmaceutical production, indoor air quality (IAQ), gowning rooms, testing filter seals, locating particle contamination sources, and monitoring particle size distributions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The HHPT-51 operates within an ambient temperature range of 10 °C to 40 °C (50 °F to 104 °F) at 20 % to 90 % RH, non-condensing. Storage conditions are specified as -10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F), up to 90 % RH, non-condensing.

Performance specifications include the following accuracy values:

  • Temperature: ± 3 °C
  • Relative Humidity: ± 7 %, at 20 % to 90 % RH, non-condensing

The device measures particle counts across six size channels: 0.3 µm, 0.5 µm, 1.0 µm, 2.0 µm, 5.0 µm, and 10.0 µm.

Configuration Options

The HHPT-51 series is configured with an Isokinetic probe for process connection and features a USB interface for data transfer to a personal computer. The unit holds up to 500 samples in memory, recording date, time, counts, sample volume, temperature, and relative humidity for each entry.

Power is supplied via an AC adapter rated at 12 VDC at 3 A, compatible with 100 to 240 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz inputs. The series includes the following standard options and accessories:

  • Instruction manual
  • AC adapter
  • Power cord
  • USB cable
  • Zero count filter
  • Hardshell carrying case

The device dimensions are 11.0 x 21.8 x 6.7 cm (4.33 " x 8.58 " x 2.64 ") and the weight is 875 g.

Key Product Differences

The HHPT-51-series includes compliance with CE, JIS B9921:1997, and ISO 21501-4 standards. The product overview notes that the meter contains no user-serviceable parts and should not be opened; servicing must be performed by qualified personnel.

Operational warnings specify that the isokinetic probe cap must be removed before startup to prevent damage, and connections should be finger-tightened without using a wrench. The device is not designed for use in explosive atmospheres or human applications.
