Supported Applications

The Omega TH and STTH series comprises chrome steel strip heaters designed for rugged, reliable performance in industrial heating applications. These units feature a three-terminal configuration that splits total rated wattage into two equal circuits, enabling operation at full power or reduced settings of 50% (1/2) and 25% (1/4) via a compatible three-heat switch.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates on 120 Vac or 240 Vac power supplies. The chrome steel sheath material supports a maximum sheath temperature of 649°C (1200°F). Power ratings across the available models range from 400 to 3000 watts, with watt densities varying by model size and configuration as listed in selection tables.

Configuration Options

The TH-STTH-HEATER series offers configurable dimensions, power outputs, and voltage options. Key capabilities include:

  • Housing & Sheath Material: Chrome steel construction with a standard width of 1½" (3.8 cm).
  • Electrical Connections: Three terminals featuring 10-32 thread or 10-32 terminal threads for wiring.
  • Voltage Options: Models are available in 120 Vac or 240 Vac configurations. Specific model numbers containing /120 or /240 denote fixed voltage availability, while others require the user to designate voltage (e.g., inserting "120" for 120 Vac).
  • Power Control: Three-heat operation achieved by jumpering terminals: full power connects top two terminals with power applied to top and bottom; 50% power jumps bottom two terminals; 25% power jumps top and bottom terminals with power applied to the top terminal only.
  • Certifications: CSA certified. The STTH series also carries VDE approval, while TH models are UL listed. CE marking is present on applicable units.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between the TH and Type STTH model families based on dimensions and wattage ratings:

  • TH Series: Available in multiple sizes ranging from 10½" (27 cm) to 71¼" (183 cm). Wattages span 400 watts up to 3000 watts. Model numbers follow the format TH-<DIMENSIONS>/<VOLTAGE>, with some variants requiring voltage designation at order.
  • STTH Series: Includes specific configurations such as STTH-2307 (750 W) and STTH-2401 (1000 W). These models are distinguished by VDE approval in addition to standard certifications.
