Supported Applications

The ACI CO Duct Series monitors carbon monoxide (CO) levels and is designed for the continuous monitoring of vehicle exhaust in non-hazardous areas. The series uses a wide spectrum, long life electrochemical sensor to measure the amount of carbon monoxide in the environment. Documented applications include parking garages, arenas, kitchens, laundry rooms, warehouses, loading docks, service garages, and school bus parking areas.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CO Duct Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to 40°C) and a humidity rating of 15 to 90% RH continuous, non-condensing; 0 to 99% RH intermittent, non-condensing. The operating pressure is specified as 1 Atmosphere (14.7 psi) +/- 10%. Performance specifications include an accuracy of +/- 2.5% of Reading and repeatability of +/- 1% of Reading. Response time is less than 60 seconds for 90% of a step change.

Measurement ranges are offered as 0 to 125 ppm or 0 to 250 ppm, with factory set defaults available at 0 – 125 ppm and field adjustment capability. The sensor life is approximately 5 years under normal conditions. Storage temperature requirements are 32°F to 68°F (0°C to 20°C), with a shelf life of 6 months from the date of purchase.

Configuration Options

The series supports configurable output signals and optional alarm features tailored for specific installation needs. The standard enclosure is NEMA 1 rated, constructed from Polycarbonate/ABS Blend (UL94V-0). Key capabilities include:

  • Power Supply: 24 VAC +/- 10% Floating; 24 VAC +/- 10%, One side Grounded; or 24 VDC.
  • Analog Outputs: Jumper selectable between 4-20 mA or 2-10V linear signals.
  • Housing & Dimensions: Standard enclosure dimensions are (H) 6.00" (152.4 mm) x (W) 3.5" (88.9 mm) x (D) 1.6" (40.6 mm), weighing 1.00 lbs (0.45 kg).
  • Indicators: Alphanumeric display options include a 2-line X 8-digit LCD and two red LEDs for relay status.
  • Relay & Buzzer Options: Available configurations feature two SPDT Form C, dry contact relays (1A @ 30 VDC/0.5A @ 125 VAC resistive load) with a buzzer rating of 85 dB at one foot.
  • Duct Kit Components: Includes vinyl tubing (18" length), an in-line filter (5 micron), and a pitot tube (3 5/32", Polycarbonate/ABS Blend / UL94V).

The series supports time delays for actuation and de-actuation from 0 to 60 minutes in 5-minute increments. Electrical connections utilize fixed terminal blocks accepting power wiring of 16 to 26 AWG (0.2 to 1.00 mm²) shielded twisted pair.

Key Product Differences

The CO Duct Series is offered in two primary configurations based on the inclusion of display and alarm features:

  • CO-D: Standard enclosure without integrated LCD or relays.
  • CO-D-RB-D: Includes an alphanumeric 2-line X 8-digit LCD, (2) SPDT Form C relays, and a buzzer within the standard NEMA 1 enclosure.

The series is not compatible with Q4C II, M-Controller2, or Q-Controller systems. Modbus RTU communication is also not supported. Accessories available for the series include a calibration adapter, replacement CO sensing element, and gas cal kits. When installed at elevations greater than 3000' above sea level, transmitters must be verified for accuracy and recalibrated as needed after installation.
