Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 616KD One-Touch® Differential Pressure Transmitter senses the pressure of air and non-combustible, compatible gases. The series is designed for simplicity in applications such as OEM integration, air handlers, duct pressure monitoring, variable air volume systems, and filter monitoring.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 616KD operates within a temperature range of 0 to 140°F (-17.8 to 60°C), with a compensated temperature range of 20 to 122°F (-6.67 to 50°C). Accuracy varies by model variant: the 616KD-A offers ±0.25% FS, the 616KD-B provides ±1% FS, and the standard 616KD delivers ±2% FS. Stability is rated at ±1% F.S./yr.

Pressure limits are defined by range: ranges of 5 in w.c. or lower have a limit of 2 psig (13.8 kPa), while ranges from 10 to 40 in w.c. support up to 5 psig. The enclosure is rated NEMA 1 (IP20) and tested to UL 2043 for plenum applications.

Measurement Ranges

The series supports a wide range of factory-calibrated differential pressure spans, including:

  • Inches Water Column (in w.c.): 0 to 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 40 in w.c.
  • Pascals (Pa): 0 to 250, 500, 750, 1250, 2500, and 5000 Pa.
  • Bidirectional Ranges: Options include ±1, ±2, ±3, ±5 in w.c. and ±250, ±500, ±750, ±1250 Pa.

Configuration Options

The Series 616KD is configurable across accuracy classes, output signals, power requirements, and optional accessories. The unit features a digital push-button for zero and span adjustments without requiring external reference pressure sources.

Output Signals & Power Requirements

  • Current Output: 4-20 mA (standard).
  • Voltage Outputs (Field Selectable): Options include 0 to 10 V, 0 to 5 V, 2 to 10 V, and 1 to 5 V.
  • Power Supply:
    • 4-20 mA output: 10–35 VDC (2-wire) or 12–26 VAC (4-wire).
    • Voltage outputs for A/B models: 10–35 VDC (3-wire) or 12–26 VAC (4-wire); 10 V output requires 13–35 VDC.
    • Standard 616KD voltage options: 16 to 36 VDC (2 or 3-wire) or 20–28 VAC (3-wire).

Process & Electrical Connections

  • Process Connection: Barbed, dual size to fit 1/8" and 3/16" (3 mm and 5 mm) ID rubber or vinyl tubing. An optional 1/8" NPT connection block is available.
  • Electrical Connections: Screw-type terminal block.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes itself through three primary accuracy variants and specific option codes that define the transmitter's performance envelope and physical configuration.

  • 616KD-A: High-accuracy variant with ±0.25% FS; thermal effect is ±0.02% FS/°F. Note: 0.25% FS accuracy is not available in ranges -00, -01, -10, or -11.
  • 616KD-B: Mid-range variant with ±1% FS; thermal effect is ±0.04% FS/°F.
  • Standard 616KD: General-purpose variant with ±2% FS; thermal effect is ±0.06% FS/°F (includes zero and span).

Available options include an aluminum tag (-AT), factory calibration (-FC), NIST certification (-NIST), terminal cover (-TC), and voltage output selection (-V). The enclosure enables mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail via side or back clips.
