Supported Applications
The Omega PV100 Series comprises electronically controlled proportional valves designed for use with clean, dry, non-corrosive gases. These two-way normally closed valves utilize solenoid technology to provide analog proportional control without the complexity of stepper motors or servo valves. The series is suitable for open- or closed-loop systems where engineers need to control flow, pressure, temperature, speed, or position parameters.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PV100 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F) and a media temperature range of -18 to 82°C (0 to 180°F). The valves are direct-acting, designed for continuous duty service with a linear control range of 15% to 85% of full flow. Repeatability is specified as ±5% when in the operating linear control range.
Response time varies by pressure condition: 40 msec at 0 pressure and 100 msec at maximum pressure for a complete cycle (Off—Fully Open—Off). Power consumption is limited to 7 Watts Maximum. The series supports power supply inputs of 12-24 VDC.
Model-Specific Pressure and Flow Envelopes
The series offers four distinct orifice sizes, each with specific maximum pressure ratings and flow ranges:
- PV101-(*): 200 PSI (13.8 bar) Maximum; Orifice .80 mm (1/32"); Cv 0.02; Flow Range at Max Pressure: 0-50,000 SCCM.
- PV102-(*): 100 PSI (7 bar) Maximum; Orifice 1.19 mm (3/64"); Cv 0.045; Flow Range at Max Pressure: 0-65,000 SCCM.
- PV103-(*): 60 PSI (4 bar) Maximum; Orifice 1.59 mm (1/16"); Cv 0.08; Flow Range at Max Pressure: 0-75,000 SCCM.
- PV104-(*): 40 PSI (2.7 bar) Maximum; Orifice 1.98 mm (5/64"); Cv 0.12; Flow Range at Max Pressure: 0-80,000 SCCM.
Configuration Options
The PV100 Series is configurable across four model numbers and three control signal types to match specific system requirements.
Housing and Connections
- Enclosure Rating: General Purpose, NEMA-1 (also referenced as NEMA 11 in source data).
- Process Connection: ¼" NPTF.
- Wetted Materials: Stainless Steel with Viton Seals (FKM seals).
- Electrical Connection: 0.4 m (18") color-coded lead wires.
Control Signals and Power
The series accepts the following control signals, specified at time of order via suffix codes (-MA, -5V, or -10V):
- -MA: 4-20 MADC (mA DC).
- -5V: 0-5 VDC.
- -10V: 0-10 VDC.
The valves are powered by a separate 12 to 24 Vdc supply. Wiring functions include Red for DC Power Supply, Gray for Control Signal (+), and Black for Common (to Power and Control).
Physical Dimensions
- Length: 84.07 ±1.0 mm (3.31 ±0.04 in)
- Width: 45.47 ±0.51 mm (1.79 ±0.02 in)
- Height: 35.05 ±0.38 mm (1.38 ±0.015 in)
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between models is the orifice size, which dictates the maximum pressure rating and flow capacity.
- PV101: Smallest orifice (1/32"), highest pressure capability (200 PSI).
- PV104: Largest orifice (5/64"), lowest maximum pressure rating (40 PSI) but highest flow capacity at that pressure.
All models share the same enclosure type, wetted materials, and electrical interface options. The series is calibrated at the factory; disassembly by the user is not recommended. Filtration of air lines on the inlet side is advised to ensure proper operation.
