Supported Applications

The Omega SV6100 Series comprises normally closed, pilot-operated brass solenoid valves designed for controlling the flow of compressed air, inert gas, synthetic oils, and water. These 2-way valves feature a construction combining brass bodies with stainless steel internal components (300 series armature tube and spring; 400 series fixed core and plunger) and FKM seal material.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SV6100 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 137°C (14 to 280°F). Process temperatures are coil dependent, with specific ratings varying by the selected Class F or Class H coil. The series supports a minimum operating pressure of 2 psi.

Maximum Operational Pressure Differential (M.O.P.D.) varies by model size:

  • SV6104 and SV6105 models: 230 psi
  • SV6106 and SV6107 models: 150 psi

Response times for the series are approximately 200 to 500 msec (opening) and 100 to 4000 msec (closing). The cycling rate is approximately 10 to 50 cpm. Coils operate on a continuous duty cycle of 100% with a voltage tolerance of ±10%. Mounting position can be any orientation, preferably with the solenoid system upright.

Configuration Options

The series is available in four primary model numbers (SV6104 through SV6107) corresponding to pipe sizes ranging from ¾" NPT to 1½" NPT. Each valve includes a strain-relief connector, with an optional ½" conduit plug (SV-CC). The standard electrical configuration utilizes 8 W AC coils at 120 Vac; however, the series supports configurable power options including 220 Vac and DC voltages.

Available coil wattage ratings include:

  • 8 W Coils (Standard): Available in Class F for various AC/DC inputs. Inrush VA is 25; Holding VA is 14.
  • 12 W Coils (Optional): Available in Class F for specific models. Inrush VA is 36; Holding VA is 23.
  • 14 W Coils (Optional): Available in Class H for high-temperature applications up to 182°C (360°F). Inrush VA is 43; Holding VA is 27.

Electrical connections are provided via the supplied strain-relief connector or optional SV-CGC cable grip and SV-CC conduit connectors. The series supports a wide range of specific coil part numbers, such as SV8COIL-115AC (Class F), SV8COIL-24DC (Class F), and SV14COIL-24/50-60HZ (Class H).

Key Product Differences

The SV6100 Series differentiates models by pipe size, orifice size, and Cv flow factor. The ¾" NPT model (SV6104) offers a Cv of 9.8, while the 1½" NPT model (SV6107) provides a Cv of 36.

Coil variations are defined by wattage and insulation class:

  • Class F Coils: Rated for temperatures up to 154°C (310°F). Includes standard 8 W coils and optional 12 W options.
  • Class H Coils: Rated for higher ambient or process conditions up to 182°C (360°F). Available in 8 W, 12 W, and 14 W configurations depending on the model.

Dimensions vary by valve size; SV6104/SV6105 models measure approximately 2 9/16" (A) x 4 1/8" (B), while larger SV6106/SV6107 units measure 3 7/8" (A) x 4 15/16" (B). Coil dimensions also scale with wattage, ranging from 1 3/16" diameter for 8 W coils to 2 1/16" for 14 W coils.
