Supported Applications
The Omega AAV-1100 Series consists of air-operated, normally closed (NC), pilot-operated angle seat valves constructed from AISI 316L stainless steel. These units are designed for industrial applications involving water, steam, compressed air, natural gas, oil, vacuum service, and neutral or some aggressive fluids.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) and a process temperature range of -10 to 180°C (14 to 360°F). Maximum operating pressure varies by model: AAV-1115, AAV-1120, and AAV-1125 support up to 290 psi; AAV-1132 and AAV-1140 support up to 230 psi; and the AAV-1150 supports up to 160 psi. When using steam as a media, maximum pressure is limited to 150 psig regardless of model rating.
Pilot pressure requirements depend on operating pressure and specific model:
- AAV-1115/20/25: Pilot pressure ranges from 25 psi at 0 operating pressure to 150 psi at 300 operating pressure.
- AAV-1132/40: Pilot pressure ranges from 50 psi at 0 operating pressure to 200 psi at 300 operating pressure.
- AAAV-1150: Pilot pressure requirements follow the same curve as AAV-1132/40, ranging from 50 psi to 200 psi across the documented operating pressures.
Configuration Options
The series is available in six standard models (AAV-1115 through AAV-1150) with varying orifice sizes and flow coefficients. Key configurable attributes include:
- Housing Material: Stainless steel AISI 316L.
- Wetted Materials: 316L Stainless Steel body/stem; PTFE seal material as standard for fluid compatibility.
- Process Connections: NPT threads are standard. To order units with BSPP threads, add the suffix “-BSPP” to the model number at no additional cost.
- Orifice Sizes & cV Values:
- AAV-1115: ½" NPT, 4.8 cV
- AAV-1120: ¾" NPT, 9.0 cV
- AAV-1125: 1" NPT, 21.4 cV
- AAV-1132: 1¼" NPT, 31 cV
- AAV-1140: 1½" NPT, 48.3 cV
- AAV-1150: 2" NPT, 59.3 cV
All models utilize a 64 mm (2.5 inch) actuator diameter and feature a self-aligning gland with a floating seal.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the AAV-1100 Series differ primarily by orifice size, flow capacity (cV), maximum pressure rating, and physical dimensions. Models AAV-1115 through AAV-1125 share a 290 psi maximum operating pressure limit, while models AAV-1132 and AAV-1140 are rated to 230 psi, and the largest model, AAV-1150, is rated to 160 psi. Physical dimensions increase with orifice size; for example, width (A) ranges from 65 mm (2.56 in) on the AAV-1115 to 150 mm (5.91 in) on the AAV-1150.
The series includes CE and RoHS certifications and carries a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Units are supplied complete with an operator's manual; the actuator valve is sold separately.
