Supported Applications
The Omega HH310/HH311 series comprises handheld digital meters designed for general industrial and laboratory use. The primary measurement function combines humidity sensing with dual temperature inputs: an integrated sensor (T1) within the probe and a separate K-type thermocouple input (T2). These instruments are intended for monitoring environmental conditions where simultaneous relative humidity and temperature data are required.
Applications include general industrial process checks, laboratory measurements, and field inspections. The series is not designed for patient-connected applications or use in hazardous locations unless explicitly certified by the specific model configuration.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HH310/HH311 operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) with a relative humidity limit of 0 to 90% non-condensing. Storage conditions are specified as -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) at 0 to 80% non-condensing humidity.
Measurement ranges and accuracy specifications vary by input channel:
- Humidity: Range of 0 to 100% RH with an accuracy of ±2.5%RH at 25°C. Resolution is 0.1%RH.
- Temperature T1 (Integrated Probe): Measures -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F) with an accuracy of ±0.7°C or ±1.4°F and a resolution of 0.1°C/°F.
- Temperature T2 (External K-Type Thermocouple): Measures -200 to 1370°C (-328 to 2498°F). Accuracy is defined by range: ±(0.5% reading + 1°C) for the full span, with specific table values of ±(0.3% reading + 1°C) from -200°C to 200°C and 400°C to 1370°C; ±(0.5% reading + 1°C) from 200°C to 400°C.
Response times are documented as 75 seconds for humidity in slowly moving air and 40 seconds for the T1 temperature sensor under similar conditions. The device features a triple display with auto power-off, MAX/MIN/HOLD functions, relative temperature difference (REL), and timer capabilities.
Configuration Options
The series supports configurable interface options to facilitate data logging and PC connectivity. While the base unit includes an internal battery, external power is available via optional adapters.
- Data Interfaces: RS-232 serial interface (9600 bps, N, 8, 1) or USB interface options are available for software communication and data transfer.
- Sensor Inputs: The T2 input utilizes an SMP type miniature connector to accept external Type K thermocouples. A free beaded wire thermocouple with a subminiature connector is included in the standard package.
- Power Supply: Operates on one 9V battery (included) or via an optional AC adapter providing 9 Vdc at a minimum of 10 mA.
The physical dimensions are 186 H x 64 W x 30 mm D (7.3 x 2.5 x 1.2"), with an approximate weight of 320 g (11.3 oz). The unit is supplied in a hard carrying case and includes a mini-tripod that expands from 142 to 279 mm (5.6 to 11").
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between the base handheld meter model, HH311, which integrates humidity and temperature measurement with a triple display, and accessory configurations that enable external data logging.
- HH311: The primary Temperature/Humidity Handheld Meter unit.
- Interface Options: Software packages are available paired with RS-232 interface cables (Model HH310-SW) or USB interface cables (Model HH310-SW-USB).
Spare parts and accessories include a Type K immersion probe (KTSS-HH), power adaptors for 115V operation, spare RS232 and USB interface cables, and replacement mini-tripods. The series carries CE approval and includes NIST Standard calibration documentation.
