Supported Applications
The Omega CN72000-Series is a 1/4 DIN temperature and process ramp/soak controller featuring fuzzy logic control. Designed for panel mounting, the series supports applications requiring precise thermal cycling profiles via its Four Stage Set Point option.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CN72000-Series operates on a line input of 85 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. The unit includes an isolated excitation voltage supply rated at 24 VDC @ 50 mA for external devices.
Installation Dimensions
- Panel Cutout: 92.0MM (3.620 IN) ±0.8 / -0.0 (±0.032 / -0.000)
Safety and Wiring Notes
- Input/Output Ratings: Input wiring for thermocouple, current, and RTD; and output wiring for 15 VDC are rated CLASS 2.
- Power Lead Separation: Do not run thermocouple or other class 2 wiring in the same conduit as power leads.
- Supply Connections: Must be made in accordance with the National Electrical Code per Article 300 and local regulations.
- Disconnect Requirements: All line voltage output circuits must have a common disconnect and be connected to the same pole of the disconnect.
Configuration Options
The CN72000-Series is configured via a model number guide following the format: CN72 - <Alarm> - <Output 1*> - <Output 2*> - <Options>. The series supports various combinations of alarms, outputs, and functional options.
Alarms
- Code 0: No Alarm
- Code 1: Yes (Alarm Enabled)
Output Configurations
The series offers selectable output types for Output 1 and Output 2, including:- SSR: Solid State Relay (Code 1)
- Relay: Electromechanical Relay (Code 3)
- Current: Current Loop Output (Code 5)
Functional Options
The controller supports the following optional features:- RSP1: Remote Set Point 0 to 20 mA
- RSP2: Remote Set Point 0 to 10 VDC
- PV1: Recorder Output 0 to 20 mA
- PV2: Recorder Output 0 to 10 VDC
- 4SP: Four Stage Set Point (Ramp/Soak)
Electrical Connections
The unit utilizes a terminal block with 32 terminals for connections.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the CN72000-Series differ by their specific alarm configuration, output type selection (SSR, Relay, or Current), and enabled options such as Remote Set Point inputs or Recorder Outputs. For example, model CN72011-1-1-RSP1 indicates a unit with an Alarm, SSR Output 1, SSR Output 2, and the RSP1 option.
Note: Use only the type of thermocouple or RTD probe for which the control has been programmed. Do not wire the 24 VOLT power supply across the input of the control; damage to the control input circuitry will result.
